I don't even own a truck... yet.

    Hi everyone,
I've been lurking this forum for the last few months and I figured it was probably time to join. Some things you should know about me:

    1. I don't own a tacoma yet. I've ridden in one if that counts for anything. I do plan on buying one soon... However, I haven't decided on a model, trim, or color, much less if I should get a 4 X 4 vs 2 X 4.
    2. I'm not good at doing mechanical stuff. If I ever give you advice on how to do anything having to do with vehicles take it with a huge grain of salt. There is a 40% I would drain the transmission fluid instead of the oil and another 15% chance I would put it back in the radiator.
    3. I'm a nerd. If you like telescopes, board games, and building lego towns, I'm your man (I also tumble rocks, dabble in photography, and pan for gold)
Anyway, be prepared for many many seemingly silly truck questions in the coming months and thanks for letting me play on your cool truck forum.

Welcome! To answer number 1, you got to ask yourself what you will do with the truck. Then you can look what is your best option.

Well, reality says it will spend 99% of its time being driven to work and around town occasionally hauling some gardening supplies in the back. But after a few minutes here I begin to think, "Well, I might need to drive up a mountain with a bed full of wild lamas at night... occasionally."

Thanks for the welcome. Until I get my truck, I will mostly be reading about upgrades I can't afford to things I don't know how to take apart.
