Yo. 2005 Access Cab, power windows and locks obviously, but I don't have keyless entry. I don't really care about command start, so I don't want to buy a big 400 dollar command start/locking system. I was wondering if anyone knows of any aftermarket keyless entry kits that I could get, and how difficult they are to install.

Or has anyone done this? That would be the best person to talk to, I suppose.

You should be able to get a Tacoma keyless entry fob and have it reprogrammed for your truck on the cheap.

I'd just do the command start for what the difference will be that they'll charge you.

DEI and Clifford make a pretty cheap keyless with alarm. about 100 installed at most shops. If you get it yourself you can wire it in and save the install price. probably 50 bucks. you can get the diagrams online. good luck

I can get a car starter installed for $150. They charge a little extra, around $50, to hook up the locks. Can your local installer ... I would imagine that they could hook you up with just power locks for around $100.

    Cheers.

Hey thanks guys. I'm going to go looking around this weekend for parts. I'll probably end up installing it myself. I'll let you know how it goes.

I used one of these in my last vehicle and it worked great. Install isn't too bad, just need switched and unswitched power, ground, connex to lock and unlock wires, connex to horn or siren for chirp, and mount the LED and switch. You can also connect it to do dome light supervision and parking light flash if you want. I know nothing about this vendor, just the first one I came across.....

I went to Advance and got a Python kit for just under 200 Canadian. It has an alarm as well, and they threw in an installation for free because of my affiliation with the company perhaps? Either way, it was an okay deal. I'm not stoked on it, but I am stoked that I now have keyless entry.

Oh sorry I should have worded it clearer, my friend. Advance installed it for me. Took them an hour. It was included in the price.

Anyway. It's so much nicer to not have to use a key to enter. That's just a scratched up door panel waiting to happen..
