Ok so you buy a product, and have it shipped somewhere else. The place you had it shipped to opened said package and modify it with out you ever seeing it first. You get the modified product back, attempt to install it and it breaks.

    So here’s my questions.
    1. How do we know the person the package was sent to didn’t throw away/misplace the directions?
    2. If you recieved the product with no directions why did you not contact the manufacturer of said goods and see if there is any special directions?
    3. You over tightened the product and then want the seller to replace the item?

It doesn’t seem like you want to truly warn anyone out there. You are trying to start a witch hunt to get your money back for your own fault. If the product didn’t come with directions yes that is the sellers fault and stuff happens, but it doesn’t make it entirely the sellers fault you put it together wrong with out contacting them until the damage had already been done. I seriously doubt you would be in this situatiom if the seller had sent you the item directly and you installed it without modification.

You are putting off any blame from the coating applied, but will not provide pictures of the threads to prove they have not been tampered with, I wonder why that is?

    It’s ridiculously easy on OSX:

Shift+command+3 does a full screen shot

Shift+command+4 does a screen grab/select where you get a cursor to select which part of the screen

Both send the image to desktop as a .png

Sell the potato, non seizable shift knob.

Include instructions - Step 1 remove OEM knob. Step 2 jam potato the fuck onto lever.

Just direct PayPal here to see all of this lol.

On an aside those shift knobs look sweet. If I had a manual I'd hit you up for on

One theory I have, is that blast media found its way under this teflon plug (I offered to leave this feature for him to install, it is a zero surface for shimming to get proper orientation). When he got it tight, it likely rained media down on the threads to cause the initial bind. After that, the cerakote won the battle against his shifter. Unless, of course ... we later get the proof that it wasn't coated in there.

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to force a metal knob on.

It literally attaches just like stock, with the exception of orientation.

This forum is a great resource for info on how to install a wide variety of things.

I'm a newb, but got comfortable enough to install some basic things from info on here

Much easier on Windows. I just press the middle button on my mouse. BOOM done.

Kinda hard to do that though with a Mac:

I could have swore the OP stated he over tightened it trying to get the shifter to align straight.. Mistakes happen but this whole situation is a cluster.

Thanks, but I just got a TRD Pro knob, so I'm all out of my knob budget for now :p

Here are the "instructions", FWIW. Admittedly, they could be worded a bit better. The lube that I put on the knob is from test fitting on my truck, so you can be darn sure it is on there.

So the instructions OP said he never got is actually posted on the same forum he frequents on a somewhat regular basis?

I've learned to just assume what is going to happen next and post based of what I think will happen. If I'm wrong, I'll most likely be right in 2-3 more pages, at that point I can say, SEE! SEE!
