I have 400 shares of SWBI but they have been stagnant...SO I just decided I would be happy selling 200 shares...SO I sold the $17.50 NOV calls for $135 on the spike over $17 today. It's been cycling up and down. If there is a pullback I keep the $$ if it rises I get to get out at $18.85 if exercised...Which is far better than the $17.20 I wanted to exit at today. Make the contracts work for you!

 

Any of you old timers from another land that had your eye on $MITI...I would say now is the buy...It's fallen to the $0.02x buy range....

 

Added to AMZN today. That's about it... ALK is finally above 40.

I got back into T at the close yesterday.

 

With sketchy earnings anticipated on 10/22 a good entry date for a gambler will be friday...

 

If your going to gamble earnings, which I do a lot, it's better to get in a week or two ahead. Stocks typically run up the week prior to earnings. Of course with this market you never know what the hell is going to happen. I blame Twitter.

 

I was thinking the other way...Taking the gamble that earnings will disappoint and those run ups will quickly take profits and you can enter friday at a discount. Gamble being earnings are good and it pops $2 and you lose your discounted entry...Pssst wannna buy some $AAPL calls? Their good until friday...I could trade them for a large 2 topping pizza right now.

Yeah but if it drops $2 that yield will skyrocket! I'd rather buy a 8.69% return than a 7.74%

 

I closed out my AAPL calls last Friday. I'm good with my 138% return. I actually closed out everything but a few JNJ and NIO NOV expiry call Friday. I was all cash for the weekend.

Yesterday I hopped back into PEIX with a lot of my cash. The run up they've had is truly insane and a couple analysts raised their price target to $16. They release earnings on the 5th or 10th. So I got in at $10 and sold a bunch of NOV covered calls at the $12 strike.

They make ethanol. You know, the stuff that is added to gas. Well, turns out that high grade alcohol also is the main ingredient in hand sanitizer. lol

 

That IF is key. IF it drops substantially more, I will double down. No worries.

And I guess I'm playing NFLX earnings. 2 OCT 30th $530 calls. I'll find out in about 3 hours whether that was a good idea or not. lol

 

Bought NLS and PTON at $15.23 and $87.89. They're up to $27 and $134. I think I found out how I'm paying for my truck shell lol

 

And they missed. At least when NFLX misses earnings they go big. FML.

TXN beat and I might also have about 10 NOV $150 calls on them. That should come close to offsetting the NFLX loss. lol
