oh and OP how did you reattach the green wire? id recommend a solder and some heat shrink tubing. Test the batt first before you worry yourself to death

Sounds like the battery is dead. When you say that you reconnected the wire real good ... I'm hoping that means you soldered it?

My battery died a few months ago and my truck did weird things too. They were weird enough that I wasn't entirely sure it was the battery, but common sense led me there. Replaced it with a good Interstate and all issues were cleared up.

When your battery is dying due to not charging properly, before the truck dies, different lights will illuminate on the dash as things like your abs, airbags, etc utilize power from the battery directly, so when it goes, these systems will alert you to the fact that they cannot function properly. Chances are, you may have a few codes stored showing the fact that these vehicle systems had lost connection to ECU or that they simply had low voltage to use.

    Put everything back to stock.

Check all the fuses. Especially the one with the black marks on it. That does not sound right.

    Charge/test the battery.

I think the wire you cut may have been needed for battery charging.

That part of the thrill of doing mods. When I did my inverter ac outlet in cab i connected the wires wrong. Started didnt work. Another 2 hours to reattach what i had taken appart to drive home, was in my warehouse. Came back the next day, restarted the process and got everything working easily.

Everyone who has done a decent amount of mods has royaly fucked up at some point.

What does that have to do with it? The manufacture year has no bearing on a drained battery.

You have to make mistakes to learn. Modding your truck just helps to make less of them.

Not necessarily, badger. He could be driving relatively short distances which doesn't allow the battery to fully recharge, with the cumulative effect over time being a dead battery. That could be compounded by a charging system already strained by multiple installed accessories.

I agree with the others. As a first step, he should check his recent wiring mods, jump start the vehicle, and then take a long drive to fully charge the battery. If that solves the problem, no need to go further. However, if the problem persists, he can then focus on other possibilities.

Mine is only two months old and is an ongoing work of art. Last month, it was side steps, bed toolbox, electronic tailgate lock, and similar. This weekend, it's a winch on the front and loading off-road equipment & tools into that toolbox. Next weekend, it's a CB radio setup. After that, I'm thinking about a hot tub or swiming pool for the bed.

You need a new battery. You ran it down. I did EXACTLY the same thing on this. I made a thread on it if you go through my profile and find it

How much you want to bet he's sitting at Walmart now and his truck won't start? :D

OP's Quote: " Anyways it was working fine and today i am in the in and out drive thru and my radio just turns off next thing I know my abs light is on and so is my emergency brake."

That will not happen because of a dead battery when you have been driving and you are sitting with the engine running. The alternator produces enough current to both charge the battery and run the engine. What he described only happems when the charging system is not working.

His buddy came over and they left his car attached for a few minutes so he probably had enough charge to get down the road a ways. I hope he took his cellphone
