    Don't know about that.

I can only use the locker in 4lo. I'd like to use in in 2H and 4H, so....

The crawl control is a cool toy, but I can't see it as being necessary. MTS and crawl control again, only works in 4lo.

Having a TRD OR, I'm happy with what I got but I don't know that it's a HUGE gain over a sport. I don't think you "F'ed" up.

I went an drove a OR in the same configuration as my sport and the ride was much better. I think if I had to do it over again I would have got the OR but I think I would take a bath trading in or selling and the tax alone buying the new one would make it not worth it.

I think front and rear lockers and air is the way to go and It will be a solid truck... 2-3k for the lockers and air installed... give or take. Thats the price difference between the sport and OR here in CA. they like to mark up the OR

Best 2k you could spend on the truck.

Given that's installed yourself prices.. about the only tool your average diy won't have is the dial to measure backlash.

FWIW I'm very happy with my Sport :anonymous:

Hell, I wheeled my '05 SR5 ECSB with open diffs and my '90 SB with open diffs all over Colorado back in the day, and the times I managed to get stuck (few and far between) I was in places the locker wouldn't have helped. Now i'm in Western PA where "legal" trails are few.. I just don't see where (for my personal use) a locker and CrawlControl would have been worth it to me. ME, I'm thrilled at the LSD addition to the truck.

Don't get me wrong, if I was still aback in CO I'd have looked more seriously at the OffRoad.. But so far (admittedly not much wheeling yet) my Sport has yet to let me down.

The smoother ride of the Off Road would also be nice on the rough roads around the Burgh.

may as well regear while you're at it.

    go ARB.
Probably cost you 5K after parts and labour

Can't argue that, lol.. I should have said the off-roading I do involves mostly "paved" roads around here
I'll eventually grab a set of stock OffRoad shocks from someone lifting theirs and upgrade the ride.

I agree on the regear as well.

And fwiw, on my non-tacoma, I was all-in with 2 ARBs, ckma12, R&P, and install labor from a very reputable shop, for a total of $2916. It takes some homework and patience to find the right deal on the parts and some basic wrenching skills to drop the 3rds, but this should be doable in the $3500 range.

ARB will do the occasional deal where you buy 1 locker and get their lower end comp. for free, or buy 2 lockers and get the mid-level comp. for free. The trick is finding the right vendor or group buy to make it cheaper than MSRP x2.

Any local reputable shop should be willing to get you the R&P at their cost, or small markup, if you pay them for install labor. And it makes things so much easier for them, and saves you at least $6-800 in labor if you take out your 3rds to drop them off.

If it makes you feel better I got a 4x2 instead of a 4x4...im going back to my dealership tomorrow after a year of owning it to see what a trade in would entail.

Yea I didn't think I would care :-/ now I've taken it onto trails and sadly look out as my friends with their 4x4's play in the mud and I'm sitting off the side like some fat kid that didn't get picked for dodge ball and who secretly embarrasses his father...sorry I kind of blacked out there for a second.
