I don't know if this helps, but I wanted to add a comment. I have an 2010 access cab with the stock base stereo. The speakers in the headliner are almost useless because they emit almost no sound. I added speakers in the doors. I got them from *********. The holes in the metal for the speakers are there, but no speaker wires and the holes for the screws are square and hold a plastic connector which holds a plastic blank plate over the hole in the door. If you buy the kit from ********* you will need nuts to put on the bolts they provide.
I tapped into the wires behind the head unit with speaker cable I installed. There are posts which help explain how to do this.
My initial response was that I was glad to hear the "rear" zone, but overall, the volume is very limited. The access cab is noisy while driving, and the speaker volume is limited. I think overall, an amp will be needed to get the volume up to a level that is acceptable.

You got any pics? Did you cut the AC rear doors?

I want to see pics of 6x9s in the front doors. Also do any of you know what kind of speaker the factory sub uses, and if the enclosure can be cracked open and the speaker replaced?
