So after my beautiful white Tacoma was totaled by a careless driver and his insurance refused to pay for any of the modifications to my truck, I decided to get the Baja and leave it as close to stock as possible. I've blacked out the bumper, headlights, windows, removed a few badges and got a color matched grill but nothing crazy. Yet every day I stare at the truck and feel like something is missing - something doesn't look quite right (from the front). After months of browsing, I figured I'd just ask for some opinions. I'm thinking it might need a roof rack, but still not sure that's what I'm looking for.

I also tried removing the chrome lips on the rims, to see if maybe it needed some chrome removal, but wasn't happy with that either. For anyone who has ever considered it, here's the results:

While I do miss the look of the 35's on a 6" lift, I do enjoy my gas mileage - I've returned to college and most of my miles are on the highway driving to and from school, so a lift isn't really practical. Also the Baja comes with a pretty nice suspension setup from the factory.

Some days I just wonder if its the fact that Tacoma's weren't meant to be black?

Paint it white. I even painted my mirror caps white on my Pro.

Below is a great example of a post from a poster who exhibits an exceptional breadth & depth of knowledge.

These two (below) are examples of plainly wrong responses.

I'm starting a new trend- blacked out trucks with all white wheels. Just to buck conventional thinking

First off, nice truck! The Baja has great suspension.

I think what you identify as an "issue", is that the black hides all the details on the front of the truck, whereas your last truck being white had more visible details to break up the look of the front end and not have it all blend together.

Subtle stock suggestions to break up the sea of black:
-Add the TRD aluminum front skid (non-functional, but would add an aluminum pop to the lower front end so it isn't all black)
-Possibly yellow laminex the front fogs (functional and add a pop of color)
-Swap to the TRD Pro grill (more lettering across the front vs the single logo)

:spy:...black, spruce mica and pyrite mica are the top 3 colors for Taco's IMO. The problem is you're trying to keep the truck stock after previously running a 6" lift with 35's. Polar opposites. Figure out what you truly want and if it turns out not to be a black baja (stock or not) I'm sure others would line up to take it off your hands

Put the rings back on the wheels (it looks 100 times better with them) and clay bar that dirty beast.

Black rims. I don't like the roof rack idea. It screws up the line of the truck.
