I was tooling around the internet and found a company (Wanderlust Overland) right in my own backyard (Oregon City, Oregon) that makes this:

This is the short bed version but Mike said that they could make it for a long bed too. I like that it keeps all the functionality of the Softopper with simple un-mounting of 2 of the 3 extruded aluminum. They also have quick release clamps. The bar closest to the cab is static mounted to maintain rigidity.

What do you guys think of it?

    Backstory:
Since this shop is almost literally in my own backyard I figured I would check it out and report back to you all. I was greeted by the founder, Mike. He was very knowledgeable and quite friendly. He was cool with the fact that I wasn't going to buy anything that day. I am pretty stoked that this place is so close by.

This shop is transitioning into an overland/offload focus. They used to make some really cool sturdy tear drop trailers and decided to pivot. Anyway, they do custom fab work, installations/builds based around overlanding and are setup as a dealer for many popular off road companies. The retail area is small but had a nice assortment of recovery gear, awning, travel gear, lighting, gizmos and the like.

    Full disclosure:
I am no way involved with the success or failure of this company. Please do not clutter up this thread or hijack with advertisements of other companies or products.
