FCA should have just stuck with the 2 door from the factory so much better looking. I bet a clone from China will look better in the future.

Most importantly, will you still be required to do the gay Jeep two finger wave with this thing? Its not terrible looking, probably better with a mild lift and 35's.

I like the concept of the gladiator but it literally looks like "let's put a truck bed on a wrangler and make it work" kind if design.

Nevermind the looks. It's still not a "Jeep" Jeep. And even the Wranglers haven't been for a while. Full leather interior, including the dash, not to mention the padded floorboards with fewer drain holes. Don't forget to put the tops back on before it rains, ladies, or your interior will be fucked & smell like moldy ass shitty diaper feet for months. Well, unless you spend HOURS cleaning & vacuuming the water out. Long gone are the days of hosing it out or "letting it rain". Luxury Jeeps, lol! That's cute.

I was seriously considering getting a Jeep Gladiator until I saw the sticker price for a Rubicon which was the only version that was appealing to me off the lot. A lot of research and test driving later I found I preferred the Tacoma and I don't regret that decision. I might still get a Jeep one day for just weekend fun but it will either be an older 2 door or a Scrambler but I can still have just as much fun in my Tacoma so it might not be worth the trouble. I have yet to see Gladiators off of the lot here in my city so I don't think they are selling well, given time a lower price point may make them more desirable. There are a lot of 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacomas all over the place as well as a lot of full sized trucks.

I had a '96 and '06 TJ. The newer stuff has always looked and felt like a different brand altogether.

The JL is the most capable Jeep off the lot ever made, even with the new luxuries. The rubber floor mats actually drain through the floor, pretty awesome. Even without carpet, letting my YJ get rained on meant it smelled like ass and the gauges didn't work right for a few days

It's like missing an ex-girlfriend. Take one out for a spin again and realize that there is a reason you parted ways :D

Maybe so, but my experience was different with my '99 TJ & '08 JK . Both were extremely capable. Never had a top on the TJ & stayed parked outside, 1000's of rain inside, hosed out often, and never a smell. JK probably got rained in i'd say 50 times, hosed a good 20, and again, never a smell. Never had issue with anything not working after being exposed to water, but I also never held a hose right up to the radio or gauge cluster. And it's not the floor mats I'm talking about. It's the padding under the carpet on these newer ones that will soak up water and start to smell. My buddies "15 JK smelled REALLY bad not long after it got wet inside. Could never really get that stink out, & his wife refused to ride in it after that. Glad you like your JL, though.

Yeah, I totally get it. As far as getting stuff wet, bedlined tubs are so awesome for both sound deadening and washability. Totally our go-to for any Jeep that has the potential to get rained on now. Plus you can toss a light carpet with no backer on top of it if you need to be fancy. I just don't personally really like wet carpet in anything.

Wasn't that just a chopped Wagoneer? Then the Comanche was a chopped Cherokee.

Yeah, I totally agree. No carpet for me. I've always found Jeeps appealing for the reason that you don't have to worry about all that "extra" stuff. Let's just hope this thing gets me there & back, period, lol.

I have noticed that by me there are alot of Colorados. I see Frontiers every now and then usually Pro-4x versions, but the Ranger has started to pop-up more and more on the roads. Most have been access cabs which I find interesting as they are usually not the most popular spec. There are about 4 or 5 Gladiators I see on a regular basis. I have a sneaking suspicion that when all the JL Wrangler leases are up there are going to be alot more Gladiators on the road. Long Island is total Wrangler country literally everyone has one that or a Ram 1500 express, usually if there is a lease deal on it then the roads by me will be littered with them in a few months.
