Put the tire on the rear, do some burnouts in a place that is cough"legal"cough. Though you risk asphalt in the wheel wells, it will probably be easier to clean up. I'd tape some rags, cardboard, etc over the paint with masking tape to prevent any possible chips as well.
Any chemical that removes asphalt WILL damage the tire as they are both petroleum products.

The stuff I mentioned evaporates pretty quick. Its almost like charcoal lighter. If firestone and carlisle roofing let it be used on multi-million dollar roofing projects it won't hurt the tire

So, went to town last night with the hair drier, and picked as much of it off as possible with a knife. Thought I got the better part of it off, but there is still a great deal that has basically "molded itself" to the damn tire.

Took off to work this morn, once I hit about 70 mph on the hiway, it shakes so bad as if i was going over washboards.

I called Discount, they said to bring it by and they can possibly help me.

The only positive thing about this, is last month I almost bought a brand new set of Nittos. Man, I'd be even more pissed if it happened to those.

If Discount can't do anything, I will try that Tarminator stuff.

    Oh yeah let's see..which should I do?
1 buy a can of TAR REMOVER, spray the tire, let it soak 5 minutes, the hose it off OR

    2. Jack the fukkin truck up, unbolt the wheels, rotate the tarred tire to the rear, rebolt the wheels, unjack the truck, go find a place to do a burnout that is "legal" (no such place except approved dragstrip) and do brakestands putting a huge strain on my poor drivetrain, till all the tar melts well into the treads and becomes part of the tire, and splatters all over the truck as well, and taking a chance someone will call the cops who will give me a slip for exhibitionist driving, drive back home, realize this did no fukkin good at all except shave a couple years off my truck's life, break out a sandwich knife and screwdriver and set on a stool and start trying to undo what I did, remember what ridgerunner suggested, go buy a can of Tarminator, spray it on the tire, wait 5 minutes and hose it off.

    Hmmmmm-what to doooo...

I had this happen to me once. The city was repaving a road and didn't have anything blocking off the area and I drove right through it. I called the city attorney and long story short I ended up with new tires on the city's dime.

well-ya because it's frustrating as hell when you know of a super simple remedy to a problem, you saw it work well with your own eyes, you want to see the OP have an easy time of this, but it's like I said nothing.. Then you have people telling him to do burnouts which is abusive to the truck, and prematurely wears the tire. Yeah I'm mad what about it?

Its the ops choice to do what he wants to do. Solutions have been presented to him, good and bad. Its his choice, not yours. You've done your part.

I'll say it again-I got annoyed because this stuff is so good at removing tar it's too easy a solution to the problem-I guess maybe that's why it was ignored. People like doing things the hard way.
I don't mind you kid flippin me shit-some of the pics you come up with crack me up:D

use gas! Ever see what it does to the street if you spill some? It will make this stuff super soft and you can scrape it away.

    back to bone stock.
    ridge, i liked your solution.

AC pavers are a messy group. i've seen them use solvent on everything. diesel, tar remover..everything and anything..

as far as heating it up, i would have probably gone the other way. gotten it cold with some of that rusted nut/bolt cold spray and snapped it off.

either way, good luck to the OP..he has gotten a ton of advice.
