Well after tryin to figure out which one I was gonna get in my first thread, this one popped up on craigslist on tue. night, So I jumped on it quick.

Its a 2001 Ext. cab, auto, v6, 4wd, trd(stickers were removed cause they were cracking).

its got 79k miles, i picked it up for $8k! Much cheaper than the other two i was considering.

Few little issues, the cruise wont engage. I tried it last night coming home, it wont set the cruise speed, the light just blinks at me.

Then I went over some bad tracks last night, the cel came on. Checked the code today, its a P0420. So ill have to look into that a little more.

Other than that, its a great truck so far, tires are new, body has some dings here and there, but is a truck that 9 years old, what can i expect.:p

Yup, its got the diff lock button.

He said the old stickers were dry rotted and cracking, so he took them off and ordered new ones, which i get when he gets them.

If it went on after going over a rough patch could be loose exhaust connections, I'd start there first and look for an exhaust leak before jumping into changing the cat or O2 sensors. Looks like a nice truck, and a good price too. Who needs cruise anyway?

Sharp looking truck! Wow, you sure got at a steal. If that truck was for sale here, that price would easily be doubled or more.

    thanks guys.

yea, I cleared the light cel. It hasnt come up again yet, although I have only driven about 2 miles since I cleared it.

But last night, I drove the 1.5 hrs home, it wasnt up until 10 min before I got home, I hit the railroad tracks and it came up.

P0420 haha my truck threw this code after I went down a really bumpy dirt road. So I had it reset and it did it 2 more times but it only does it down rough roads or on big bumps. Im begining to think maybe a loose wire!

Nice find! I share your pain on the P0420. I keep getting that in my 03 DC. I need to replace my o2 sensors and if it continues then replace the cats.

    Enjoy your new Taco!
