I Gotta Rant...

He spent 40k of his hard earned money on something and cares deeply about it, doesnt matter if its a 5$ doggy figurine, its the principle that people don't respect the things he cares about.

 

This has been a lifesaver - I keep it folded up behind the 40% bench cubby along with the reusable grocery bags. Keeps them from tipping over in case I ever had to perform an evasive maneuver.





I do eat in the car on road trips. I figure the dogs in the back seat do far worse damage than my Sonic tots.

But I also religiously vacuum out the interior after each trip and once a year I shampoo/wet-vac the upholstery. Makes the truck look/smell like new.

This happened to me last month.

 

Were we not in the age of Covid I might well have removed my thick leather belt and administered the mother of all ass whippings..but combining that with the fact that I don't need any more legal issues in my life nor my wife getting mad at me, I just said "OK if it's gonna be like that I'm calling the police and they can handle this" then just locked myself in the vehicle until they arrived. During the conversation with the officer (at which time I was nowhere near the other car) I removed my hoodie and was wearing a sleeveless underneath, I caught the door dinger noticing my muscles and tattoos at which point I would hope he realized he's lucky I'm not a violent person.

Yes and yes. I lovingly detail both vehicles in spring but I have told her if she trashes hers one time I will no longer do it, as I had to do with her old one.

Or that it's someone else's property even if it was a shitbox..yup

 

It hurts when it’s new. I was driving mine home from the dealer and made a pitstop a guy backed into my front bumper right in front of me. He said don’t worry it’ll buff out unfortunately I flipped because it was brand new and hadn’t even got home yet.

Last year I got a brand new road glide special first ride with the wife and she scuffed the side plate with her foot while getting on the very first time.

 

I would have lost my shit on that guy..that's not his decision.

 

I thought it was a truck, not an SUV with a birth defect.

 

This is why ... My wife of 35 years ... Has YET to drive my new truck that I got in Sept.
Probably will never ever let her drive it unless it's an emergency. She asks me 'Why' ...
All I have to do is point out 'You see the festering dog barf in yer rig? The french fries all over the floor in the back?'

It could be much worse my Ex got 1/4 million in cash she was able to lay her hands on and that was just the start.

My buddies bought a keg and while getting it ready, didn't attach something properly and roughly 4 pints of beer somehow shot directly and all over my truck.

Back when I was single, I used to to think 'If she treats my rig like that, how's she gonna treat ME on down the line?'

 

The prob is ... Had I done that to any sweetie/GF I ever had's new rig? I'd of been 'Gimmie a timeline. It's going into the body shop first thing .. On my dime..'
Most (and I'm not saying all, but most ..) women would say 'Jeezuz ... It's not that bad. It's just yer stupid truck. It'll rub out.. Calm down...'

 

I agree to a certain extent. Did the 'kids' and got them grown up through college, etc.
I went through the snot and boogers and barf and milkshakes being all over.
Now ... If anyone even looks at my new truck even the slightest way funny ... (Wife included) There will be Hell To Pay.

 

I thought that I kept my vehicle clean until my daughter showed me all of the crap that she cleaned out of my old SUV that I gave to her. Are two year old crusty fries still good to eat? I am trying to keep my new to me Taco pristine but...life happens.

I feel your pain! Had a shopping cart ding in my door 2 days after purchase. I've been too cheap to take to PDR for fixing. Fast forward 4 years... That problem was solved a couple weeks ago when I was sideswiped. Entire right side got messed up. 2 weeks later I got it back...no shopping cart dent!
