Well then eventually (who knows how long that will be). If my grille starts to look like low budget amateur crap I will spend another $15 on paint and spend a few hours re-painting it. No big deal. I painted the chrome grille on my nissan frontier that I used to have and it still looked great 2 years later when I traded it in.

    Color match. FTMFW.

Exactly, 3 months in looks great brand new still, just washed it with a pressure wash the other day, still flawless.. I did use a couple costs of adhesion promotor before I painted though.

I used 3 coats of the clear adhesion promoter too. Works great.

More power to you, you should.

Just putting information out there for people who are deciding what to do and don't know any different. Somebody with no real clue about automotive paints posts about how they just scuffed their chrome and got have an amazing looking result with spraypaint. A year or three later when it looks like scabby crack ho butt they don't come back and post pictures of the mess. In the mean time people read about it and go to work with the Krylon and Duplicolor on their $30K trucks. They post how easy and wonderful it is too. And they dont come back with pics of the mess either. And the chrome painting cycle continues.

I plastidipped mine, I also did my rear chrome bumper. I don't mind the look of plastidip and it holds up very well.

How did you go about removing the Toyota emblem from the grill?

I really like the clean look of the color matched grill and rear bumper. But to complete the look you need to change out the headlights and fogs and tail lights. Then the badges are considered. All added up, you are looking at over $1,000.00
On a silver truck, it all looks pretty good. I believe I'll spend that cash on tires.

Color matched is the way to be. I hate chrome. Also these are the factory smoked headlights if anyone was curious what they looked like. Still need to get some Rigid led fog lights though. Oh and also I need to swap tail lights. Hate the chrome stock ones.

I think it has alot more to do with the painter and less to do with plastidip's faults :crapstorm:
&black is not the only choice in pd colors.
