I had two questions when buying: what is most affordable and reliable gun for zombie apocalypse? Majority said glock.

What ammo will be most prevalent during zombie apocalypse? Majority said 9mm.

    I have g19 now.

Bottom line is i bought a gun like how i like my vehicles. I need it to work and be reliable no matter what (toyota tacoma) . It may not the fastest or the strongest but will always be there for you when you need it.

The only other pistol I'd own is a sig...I love my 23! Its my daily carry pistol and I haven't had 1 malfunction...it sits on my night stand when it's not on my hip!

Apparently the OP is unaware of the SF frame available for smaller hands. Several State Police forces have standardized on the the newer small frame Glocks.

Love my G22 .40 3rd gen, I believe. I'd carry it anywhere. I've put well over 10k rounds through the pipe and have had 8 fail to ejects all back to back with the same ammo sold that box for cheap to a person in the range got a new box and never had anymore trouble. But to each their own.

    It's all on personal preference.

I had an xd before the glock. Really didn't like it much. It felt bulky and out of balance.

My main complaint with glocks and the like is not being able to see the hammer. that and the glock is not comfortable to me. I have shot the XD as well, and it didn't fit me well either, though it fit better than the glock. I will stick with my 1911s, I know this isn't an argument between those two because they are very different guns, but I am just saying.

I will be the first to admit that the glock is very reliable. Of the 2 that I have shot, one was a 9mm that had reloads that we were shooting. the cases kept rupturing. The glock ate them like it was nothing, no malfunctions with the gun even with the case ruptures.

They feel cheap to me like others were saying because of the polymer (read plastic). The only gun I have liked that used polymer was a Walther pk380, and it didn't have much, it was mainly metal. That guns fits me well...except that the safety and mag release sucks

but anyways, I like any gun that goes BOOM, though the glock aren't my favorite.

I live in a split household....the main handgun brand/style argument in my opinion, I like 1911 and my dad likes glocks. Oh well, they are guns so I like them

I play World of Warcraft :(

No knitting for me though...however it could come in handy :)

I own a Glock 26 and I love that thing, never had any trouble racking the slide, or really any other problems with it to be honest. Very nice gun in my opinion. I also purchased a Console Vault for my truck to go along with it.

Same for me. Never cared for the angle of the grip. Nice gun though. When we turned 21, my buddy bought a Glock, and I bought a Sig. We gave eachother crap for the guns we chose, but they're both great guns.

The only problem is this is comparing an HK to a glock. Different everything. Plus the price tag is much different. Obviously an HK will perform, that doesn't mean that a Glock won't.

I admit my glock is about as exciting as my framing hammer. I think my sig226 is better looking and more comfy. But I shoot both well. Either way, I own two very reliable handguns. A revolver 357 and I will great.

Who needs to rack the slide on a loaded Glock anyway? You just draw and start shooting.

    :D

If someone knows they will be entering frequent situations requiring a reload, then they should be carrying an MP-5 or something more than a handgun.

By the way, I like my Glock 23. Not in love with it but it's reliable and I like the ligher weight.

I just bought a Taurus PT840C (I know, I know. I had been told that Taurus has arrived. Not.) and have put 550 rounds through it in the last week. I have never, ever, had so much trouble getting Winchester Talons to feed. Malfuntion after malfunction. Jam after jam. I've tried different magazines and they malfunction in all of them. Federal HSTs do better but they jammed several times, too.

My expectations were based on the thousands of rounds I've fired through my Glock 23 and the Glock 19 that came before it. Every time you pull the trigger on a Glock it goes bang no matter what you feed it. Every time.

Yes the Glock is an appliance, not very attractive and contrary to what many believe a pistol should be. I don't care. It goes bang when I need it to without exception. I'll continue to carry my Glock.

Who really gives a s**t if a gun is purdy? As several members have stated, a handgun, or any other firearm for that matter has one job, and only one job...to go "bang" every time you pull the trigger. Glock's excel at this job. I have owned several as I said, and will never part with my G27. That gun will be with me come the zombie apocalypse, along with my Remington 870 and M-4...and machete for zombie head lopping.
