Sliders and side steps work for the front doors of cars, but some cars rear doors are cut around the wheel well, making the top of the door go right over the sliders and still ding you...unless you have a large lift.

Id be careful where I did that...

In some jurisdictions, that may earn you a Kwikset pinstripe.

yes corner spots are my favorite, get really close to the side so atleast one side of the truck is safe and gives the other spot more room so they can stay away from my car. so far my wife is ok with parking a mile away from the door, we'll see how long that last...

My wife gets pissed too. I tell her that you can't un-ring a bell and the same goes for my doors!!!

I have sliders for protection, but still some soccer mom who can't align her suburban or control the boat load of door slinging children in the thing will still get past my sliders.

As someone else pointed out, it is interesting how you can park by yourself in BFE and come out to find someone right next to you. It's like there's some subconscious herd/safety in numbers instinct that draws the brain dead across the parking lot toward your pride and joy.

i've found sliders dont always protect my truck...anything higher than a civic will ding my door because of the way doors are designed (top of the doors wider than the bottom). I've found that the two spots next to my truck are ALWAYS the last two to fill up where I park because my truck is soo wide now, no one wants to park next to me, and when the ppl get out after they park by me, they get out really carefully

im the guy who looks for the vette parked all by itself and park my dirty nasty truck as close as possible...:spy: J/K

i dont ever do damage to anyone else's stuff. I had a brand new GTO and i never went out of my way to park away from people.

My philosophy is to not worry about things and dont mess with other people. i feel like i have good kharma. I had my taco parked at my old apartment all the time no door dings. every other car in the lot had dings fender to fender.

When you worry all the time, thats when shit happens

Edit: i also dont really care. you cant see dents past dirt. Just as long as it doesnt break the paint

I also try to park by a curb (really close). If I have to park far away, I drop my wife and kid at the door and then go park.

    No worries!:D
