I've got a couple door dings on my passenger door. It's very irritating how rude people are and don't care. Need to pick up some nerf bars.

i will purposely park next to people who think their car/truck is better than everyone elses when they park way out or in 2 spots

even if it means i squeeze into a spot the size of a smart car

There are tools that pro detailers use to measure paint thickness.

Not a recommendation just an example.

To remove a scratch you really need an orbital buffer, pads, and polishes. You might want to try Megs Scratch X but be prepared to work your butt off.

For others posting about dings in your Tacoma you might want to try a Ding Doctor service. The cost is usually $75 to $125.

Reminds me of a friend I have who used to do that with his old beat up '98 Honda CRV. He did it with me in the vehicle one day as we visited a Walmart. He went out of his way to park beside a black Cadillac Escalade ESV that was parked way away from the other vihicles. When he got out he actually bumped his door against the cadillac . As we walked into the Walmart I just shook my head and said: "you like messin' with strangers, don't you".

Later, when we came back out, the escalade was gone. I just vaguely noticed that his CRV has leaning a little on the passenger side. I looked down and saw both of his passenger side tires were flatter than a Polack joke. He actually had the nerve to get angry about it too.

Today, every once in a while i'll razz him about it. One time I cut a tire ad from a magazine and stuck it on his windshield. Now i'll sometimes ask him what the price of new tires is today.:stirthepot:

What is a good solid rock slider with minimum or no drilling for a 2010 double cab?

This is the reason I'm looking into either bolt on sliders or N-Fabs. Do the 3" N-Fab's stick out enough to protect the doors? Or are sliders the way to go. I don't necessarily need the step, but I'd like to have somewhere to bang the snow and shit off my boots before I get in as well.

Careful doing that. People tend to be envious, and will key your car. I avoid taking my Mustang to parking lots, if possible. In the Tacoma, if the weather is bad I'll drop my gf off at the door and then park, otherwise I park pretty far away.

The only people I hate who take up two spots are those that park in the closest spots and do that. If you're in the "south 40", take as many as you want, just leave me 2.

Avid Offroad (they're a vendor on this site) can make you sliders that bolt-on and mount to where your factory running boards would.

I've got a set ordered and they'll be used primarily to protect my truck from door dings and runaway shopping carts.

Ash do you have a pic of Avid offrad sliders. Mostly highway and town for me although I drive through construction sites for work (hardly off road in my book.) Looking at nerf or sliders dont want to break the bank and not really interested in weld ons. Need to be black for my rig. Chrome just would look like cheese. Saw some aries local in classifieds of new tacoma. Can you powdercoat over chrome?

No, I just ordered them and they won't arrive for another two weeks. There's another member on this board (AriZonaD54) who has Avid bolt-on sliders mounted on his truck.
