So, I have a 2009 DC TRD OR 4X4 with 4,000 miles. I have had it since June of 2009 and there 'wasn't' a single scratch on it.

I rented a trailer and went to Restoration Hardware to pick up some furniture. It could have fit in the bed but I figured those hacks loading the furniture would scratch my truck (insert foreshadowing). So they loaded up coffee table in the trailer, I turn around for a second and they are loading the ottoman in the bed? The ottoman has wooden legs with metal casters and you can guess the rest.

The idiots decided to put it in the bed instead of the trailer, then they decided to put it metal side down even though it was wrapped on the top. Idiot A was okay, Idiot B let the metal caster come down on the outside bed panel...why?!?!?!?

I got the manager and he referred to the waiver I signed in the store and flipped me the bird.

All the way home I was PISSED. I get home and heat up the plastic bed rail and smooth out the scratch on that. Then I start to try and polish out the scratch... on the passenger side bed panel. Polish by hand, polish some more. The scratch is starting to blend in and is probably only visible to me at this point. I want it back to perfect though so I keep at it. Believe it or not, I burned the paint polishing by hand!!!

So now that area sticks out like a sore thumb. Small crease from intial impact and off colored paint from Idiot C (me) not knowing when to call it quits.

Respray of just that area will NEVER match, respraying the whole bed side seems lame.

Solution? Black vinyl band-aid. Pictures coming.

Its a truck not a luxury vehicle. My truck is new, I hated scratches but after loading an eight point and his horn denting my tailgate I got over it. Remember its a truck

Wow - I'll have to remember that they assume no responsibility for their incompetence and stupidity. Sorry to hear about the paint.

    Man you sound like me.

Watch the "metal belt buckles" with the "bed side loaders" too. ... ... they will scratch the h*ll out of your side fenders.

FWIW ... I do NO loading from my truck sides ... only load from rear tailgate ... call me a sissy ... I could give a rat's azz. ... :D

They are blurry. I'm upset and it's dark. I know you will not think it seems bad now, but remember 1.5 years old, not a single scratch let alone a dent.

I would feel better if I had dented it. Instead I went out of my way to rent a trailer so those douches would not touch my truck.

I will take it offroad someday, for now I want it to look new.

And really, it probably is not that bad... it's just the action itself and the response to the action from the people involved that is making the bile form.

Sorry to hear about that. I understand the whole "it's a truck and it's supposed to be rugged" thing so if I put a scratch on it, fine whatever that's life it happens. But when someone careless that doesn't give a shit about others' things scratches my truck, that's when it chaps my ass.

Btw OP those wheels are sweet.

hey man i know how u feel, i didnt even have my 2010 for a week and someone ran into my truck leaving 3 dents in the tailgate and 2 in the bumber and took off! A hole's, then i had a guy about a month ago take off my drivers side mirror and the mirror hit the doo so hard it creased it in. Guyhad no insurance so i paid for it and the door will have to be replced bc the crease cannot come out and the det man wants 175 to popout 3 dints and the bumber will have to be replaced. you cant keep anything new these days. The truck is only 3 months old, i feel your pain.

yes if i would of caused what happened then i wouldnt be so mad bc it was my stupid self, but it was someone else who caused it so i was hot about it and still not happy
