Only comment is that I'd be weary thinking of waiting for a 2024. If it's a model overhaul, there's a good chance of teething problems. Isn't one of the rules, never buy a new model year vehicle?
When it comes to technology, I tend to be a late adopter. That's worked out very well for me for many decades.

If it weren’t for the guys buying the new models, we’d never know about the problems. I bought a 1st year 2nd Gen. But I stuck with the 2.7 with manual trans. Both had been around since Gen 1. So I felt OK buying a 1st year.

I’ll pitch in on your question regarding the potential devaluation because the 4th Gen is coming out…based on my personal experience.

I purchased an end of year 2nd Gen new 2015 Tacoma after the 3rd gen 2016 Tacomas were on the lot. The 2nd Gen trucks were a known commodity with a pretty good record of reliability, the 3rd gens were unproven at the time and ended up going through pretty typical growing pains. I am considering a new ‘23 Tacoma using the same decision criteria (I.e. a lot of the bugs have been worked out). One critical point I never consider is potential resale value…vehicles are depreciating assets.

One last comment, on the upside Toyota trucks hold their value (in addition to my Tacoma I also have an FJ Cruiser) better than most. But you should consider what fits your needs as the #1 criteria.

It wasn’t the Odyssey post. I forgot how to comprehend words. Thought @TacoTime55 had deleted his previous post and re-posted with edits. Hence the poke. A “I know what you did.”

Go on, laugh with me :D

Exactly. Buy the 3rd gen m6 now. Wait to see how the new gen is. Let it drop a bit in price and buy later if needed.
