    I roughed mine up pretty good (took it out back and kicked it's damn @ss!) and it helped a little.
    I have also heard of people drilling a tiny little hole in their dipsticks to make it easier to read.

    I just usually take it out, set it on the rad support for a few minutes, let the oil drain back down the tube a little then check it.

    the 1GRFE is such a clean engine.

    cleanest i've seen.

    even after a year of running amsoil it's clean as a whistle.

    that's your problem it's too damn clean on the inside of these.

    Put it on a piece of wood, and knock it with a hammer and punch. It will make a nice mark for you to read with.

    it is a nice clean engine, i cant deny that, just the dipstick pisses me off. if that bend wasnt in the dip tube, it would be fine

    These dip sticks are pieces of shit....never seen anything like it in the 40 years I've owned vehicals. I tryed sandpaper first and ended up useing a small file to etch a "X" pattern between the 2 marks. Checking it after the truck sits over night helps.
