I Hate These Radio Knobs

So I did some measuring, as I wanted Fender volume and tone knobs. Problem is, they are quarter inch shaft, and Entune uses like a .300 shaft pot. This gave me the idea to make an adapter shaft.

Skip the long story of cutting 1/4" L type copper pipe, soldering to a 5/16 bolt, cutting the stuff to fit with a Dremel wheel. Let's reassess and try some 3m / scotch double stick tape I found in my wife's picture hanging stuff. I just double stick taped the strat knobs over the OEM and used a sharpie to black out the tape. Done.

The knobs do protrude a bit farther than they should, but this is a concept test for now. I'll update after these have had some exposure to heat.

 

Now you just need the 8 track player in there and you’re all set! Actually the knobs are cool, I’m all for replacing cheap factory parts.

I was doubtful at first but I actually like the look, if you could figure out how to get it to fit in the factory shaft that would be awesome!

 

It surprises me how many complaints there are about the radio knobs. I’ve never ever given that much thought to radio knobs.

 

But do the speakers go to eleven?

Honestly the stock ones suckkkkkkkkk... I ordered these from @wileydavis and they’re amazing. My wife actually told me it was “a waste of money” to buy these... than I put them on... honestly she admitted i was right... first time for everything. Plus you can get them with a cool octopus, or an AR15 bolt face, plain too if that’s your thing.
