Long bed DCs are only built on certain days, especially when there are additional packages like towing and electronics to add. It affects the entire line, so it's scheduled far in advance to ensure all the manufacturing supplies are available that day.

Generally speaking nowadays, on avg it seems like car makers start all their new model year stuff up end of summer/beginning of fall (some sooner than others), so I did not count calendar days/hrs with any precise calculations and just threw out we are getting towards halfway thru model year since they don't follow calendars. All I'm gettin at is that there should be more stock from factory on dealer lots so that this many people shouldn't have to be doing so many "special" orders just to get a truck with stuff on it they want to buy at this point. That is more of a mid to late summer thing for next model yr IMO when production is just cranking up after all the media hype starts playing on tube and web for what's next.

Since the OP wants a manual... That's probably the hold up. My dealer has a bunch of very nice Tacos sitting on the lot with 4x2, 4x4, OR, Sport.... You get the point. However I don't recall seeing a single manual transmission on the entire lot. Also the LB... Yet another slow down.

I'll have to go with not advertising you have stuff to sell before you have stuff to sell. It's like they just had to start pushing them to the public before they were prepared at the factory. Just seems all outta sync, they should've got their shit together before opening the doors for the rush and having people all lined up on paper waiting 6 months or whatever timeframe like it seems is happening. Why have base model stuff on lots when everyone is gonna bum rush for all the loaded ones? Shoulda pushed those out first for demand's sake and to make more money off the more expensive loaded models then the fewer folks who wanted base models wouldn't have as long of a wait and less backlog at the factory.
