I hated my backup camera in my rear view and wanted it in my HU instead. I read a couple reviews of people here who purchased a wiring kit to relocate it into the HU. So..... I purchased and installed it.

    And.....

Now I have NO backup camera in my rear view. Unfortunately I don't have it in my HU either.

I double checked, and triple checked all my wire connections but it still doesn't work. I get nothing, absolutely nothing.

Are you looking to rant or for help? Providing the HU and wiring kit would be a good start if you're looking for help. If it's just a rant, I got a small violin around here somewhere...

He's completely justified in his response... You made a thread to bitch when you should have made one ASKING for help. However, now that we are at an understanding that you would like some help post up a pic of the harness if you can. Have you tried to hook everything up temporarily the way it was stock to make sure that it all still works? Just to rule out possibly blowing a fuse or having a short somewhere... If you did in fact double check all of your wiring.

Contact the seller. I got one from him and it works great. I had questions before I bought it and he was very helpful.

There we go. Someone who's used it. Check your wiring, check your fuses... The seller will have more information than us honestly as we are prodding around trying to find an answer whereas the seller has likely seen your issue before.

Really? Considering that he supplied no helpful information other than supplying a violin?

If you don't believe what I stated then why did you respond? I DID check my connections AND fuses before I posted. I posted a link to my ebay purchase that has the photos of the wiring harness that he supplied. Thanks for your helpful information.

You know people like myself come to this forum for helpful information and positive responses. To hear "I have a violin" and "If in fact you double check all your wiring" does not add to the conversation and question the validity of the OP and their posts. Read the post and provide help to the situation rather than question the validity of the merit of post.

I have contacted the ebay seller an I am in conversation with him to remedy the situation. For me, spending $70 for a solution to relocate the backup camera from the rear view camera to the HU only to have the wiring harness fail is not acceptable. I spent well over 2 hours to install and trouble shoot the problem only to post a post here to get "I have a violin" comment. Not what I was expecting. I was hoping to have someone provide assistance/help into the situation rather than post a smart ass comment about their band equipment supply. It was obvious (to me) that my comment was to ask for help.

I would appreciate any positive feedback towards this situation and for those who want to provide negative/irrelevant comments to keep to themselves as they provide no solutions to the problems.

I would contact the seller. Could just be a faulty item.

Considering that you could have provided some useful information in the first post.

From what you posted, it looked like a rant.

So the ebay item, is it just an adapter that fits over the oem harness? If so would it be possible to take it off and just plug the oem harness back into the rearview mirror? (that would at least help isolate the issue). If you're confident that you're followed the instructions and didn't short out a fuse, that's where I would go next.

Maybe a pick of the harness so we know what you're dealing with...

This was a wiring harness but required you to cut 2 wires from your factory harness to make it work. In order for me to reverse the harness that is installed I would have to solder back the cut wires (which I might do) to reverse the original setup.

Did you tape off/isolate the two wires you cut? If the harness came with instructions, could you post or link? 100% sure you cut the two correct wires? (double check)

Reaching for straws, but hard to guess without seeing it. Definitely a pain to re-wire once cut.

Haha dude you gotta chill... there are plenty of people here including myself that can and will help you if given the right information. I want to remind you that no one here owes you any help, nor you to us. This is a community and I do my best to help out the members where I can. Getting angry at me won't help anything. I apologize for calling you out, and I will admit that I assumed that the wiring diagram would not be posted in the link so I never even clicked on it. I will look and try to familiarize myself with it. In the meantime, check your radio power fuses and some pictures of what you have done as far as wiring is concerned would be helpful.

And he's not exactly a newbie.
    Should know better.

This thread would be 11 posts shorter had the information in his 2nd post been contained in his first.
