I have 2 bilstein 5100 2.5 lift shocks for the front of my truck and am about to have them set on 2.5" on stock coil springs. Will this cause any problems? Will i be able to get the full 2.5 inches of lift out of the shocks?

    It technically is ok.

Probably won't give 2.5 unless your springs are brand new. Most importantly the alignment will be hard to get and your truck will end up riding like shit. I would not run on the highest setting if you aren't lifting the rear either.

If you have a 4 leaf pack on the rear and no lift, 1.75 is ok.

If you have a 3 leaf pack on the rear and no lift, stick with .85 as a maximum.

Both are about level with the rear setups I outlined.

I had mine at .85 and 1.75, and wouldn't want to go at 2.5 myself.

im at 2.5. It is stiffer ride, but the load E tires contribute more to the stiffness. I also have 1.5 wheelers progressive add a leaves.

Each truck is a little different in respect to how much lift you'll get. If you have a double cab V6 4x4, you'll get right about what they say. Prerunner might be a little more (@DCSBFTMFW ?). My access cab got nearly 2.5 with springs set at 1.75. 4 banger engine is lighter than V6, so more lift. Same with regular cab. It's kind of a crap shoot until you find someone with a nearly identical truck who has already done what you're thinking of doing.

And the driver's interpretation of what's stiff, bouncy, smooth, plush, etc... is totally subjective.

i would not recommend the 2.5in setting on stock springs.... 1.75in max and plan for some UCA's

I got exactly 1.75in but im a DCSB 4x4 v6 auto so i am stock the second heaviest config. next to the lb version of my truck.
