Last week my clutch went out. I'm always trying to upgrade when things break... (I.E. S.O.S. disk brake conversion when the drums went out last year. BTW I would recommend just swapping in a FJ or 4Runner rear axle- less hassle...) Anyway, I had my eyes on a URD replacement clutch and a ClutchMasters Hydraulic Release Bearing, but they both seem to be out of stock from URD. Are there any other reputable brands and/or retailers for replacements? I'm currently running the stock engine, stock gearing and 35s. I am in the process of collecting parts for installing 4.88 gears and f/r lockers. I was interested in the URD torque-u 40.5 lb flywheel and the stage 2/2+ clutch. Do these sound appropriate for my setup? Also, does anyone have experience doing the install themselves (Non-professionals)? How long did it take you, and what speed bumps did you hit along the way?

I did both, took me about 2 days total taking my time. Well worth the upgrade.

My dowel pins were seized in the transmission, so it was fun trying to separate the trans and engine.
