Is there an x over the rear axle on the light?

I don't have a 2nd gen but doesn't that indicate that the Rear Diff lock is trying to engage? I didn't think that the 4x4 indicator light flashed red, just the RR Diff lock light...?

If you have a TRD OR model, make sure the diff lock button to the left of the steering wheel isn't pushed in (unless you want it to be).

Yeah, its the diff lock light. If you are in 2x4 just hit the locker button. Light should go away

That's not it I locked and unlocked the differential, different lights come on for that. And yes it is a TRD off-road. No modifications

I believe thats the diff lock light. If you press diff lock what does it do? Have you tried putting it in neutral? Reverse and forward a bit to see if it engages/disengages successful?

That's your diff locker light. Make sure the button is in the disengaged position and try driving for a bit. If it's blinking it's trying to engage/disengage the locker. With the button depressed it should stop blinking and go out after a short drive.

You may have to drive for a bit and make some shallow turns to fully disengage the locker.

Why don't you take a second and look at your rear axle, and see if the wires are connected as they should. That's an easy place to start.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
Read your year's vehicle manual, it should give you a clear explanation specifically about that indication.
