First is a picture inside of my valve cover gasket. Is the tan shhmoo (technical term) indicative of a head gasket leak?

Secondly under the power steering reservoir there is tube end for a hose and a electrical connection floating around. On pictures I've seen there is a sensor where the tube end is on mine. there is no tube and no sensor so I don't know what is going on. Any insight is appreciated.

Valve cover brown stuff is normal.
The other thing is the coolant or oil pressure sensor.
    I forget which one.

If you tell me the wire color, I can tell you for sure.

Again. The valve cover stuff is normal. No need to worry.

The pudding like substance can be caused by short trips especially in cool/humid weather, if you aren't losing coolant I wouldn't worry about it. Typically if you have a headgasket leak bad enough to get coolant in the oil you know it long before it gets that bad.
You may consider shortening your oil change intervals if you do drive alot of short trips.

The connector appears to be for the power steering pressure switch which you also have pictured, it plugs into that switch.

First, thank you both for all the info links you provided. Second, the tube in the picture right under the valve cover is a male end for tubing. Also since I have practically the entire harness disconnected what the connector plugs into I might not be seeing. Once it gets darker this evening I will look some more. I did not take any hose off of that tube end so that is what is confusing me. On the other hand I've been working on it while the temp has been in the 100 range so in my haste I certainly could have missed , well anything, ha! Once I check it out I will post either how stupid I am or the results I find.

If your referring to the part I circled in red that is the Power Steering Pressure Switch. The connector (Circled in Blue) should plug in there.

Looks like a connector is unplugged.

It takes 5 miles for oil to warm up and burn off water.
I have a catch can. It fills up faster if I take repeated short trips.

You either have a bad HG or you don't. You'd know if you do. There's a test for that. And symptoms like boiling coolant, white smoke, misfire, loss of coolant, having an early model year with bad HG, etc.
