Ouch. Headed east on Sunday. Nothing like some hung over traffic sitting.

I have lived here in CO for 26 years and been to every major ski resort except Telluride (been there in the summer). I LOVE crested Butte. But... Aspen, crested butte, telluride are FOREVER away from Denver. C Butte = 5 hours. Telluride = 7 hours. Aspen = 5 hours.

Your best bet is Keystone. Good mountain, plenty of bars (try the Goat for a sweet dive bar! Walking distance), free bus system, ubers (there is 1 uber guy in C Butte). Keystone is less than 2 hours from the airport in Denver. Also, it is 40 minutes from Keystone to Breckenridge so you can try both, party at both... etc. Or, if you are really feeling it... Vail is only 1 hour away... and Vail is incredible and huge.

Also, Keystone, Breck and Vail all use the same pass (they are all owned by Vail). So, you can buy a pass to Keystone and use it at Breck, etc.

Also, all those drive times I mentioned do not include snow or excessive traffic. Telluride could be 10 hours away from Denver IF snow or bad traffic (usually heavy snow = bad traffic) etc.

If the weather's bad enough, there is not a big enough number. Be careful driving out here in the winter flatlanders.
