I still can't believe Toyota thought the dumbass snorkel was a good idea. Of ALL the things they could have done to the Pro to differentiate it, how did they land on something they should have known almost nobody would want.

I mean seriously. During the meetings, how did they decide on a feature that makes the truck look absurd, and that almost nobody will need?

I was all set to buy a pro in Vegas, the dealer was going to remove the snorkel from the truck. They were willing to swap the fender from a sport. Had everything set and when i was review the paperwork they added the ‘market adjustment’ for 5k. I told them to pound sand and picked up and off-road. I could see waiting for a 2020 now.

Why, though? Who is going to buy one with the snorkel if they don't want the stupid thing? lol

I could see a snorkel being somewhat useful for miles of dirt and gravel roads we have in the Northeast, just not that snorkel. Some of the aftermarkets look acceptable, purpose built and effective.

Edit: I’m thinking Golden Road, #4 Road, Moose River Plains Road...40+ miles of dirt in dry summer conditions. Still hardly necessary and I’m going to clean my filters afterwards with or without the “add-a-giraffe” intake feature.

I thought they dropped the ball with it too, they should have added something more functional that would have benefited more drivers like a better set of tires.

They could have adapted the factory “Denso” snorkel they sell overseas for the Hilux to the Tacoma if they had wanted to. Was already designed and sold by Toyota dealers over there.

Yes! Better tires, winch and front locker would make it so much more capable. Hard to believe they still run those shitty road tires.

The blindspot that snorkel must cause on right turns is something I'd like to see myself. A pillars are already too thick causing them.

I sat in one with a snorkel at the auto show. It blocks a huge portion. I'm certain it could hide entire cars if you're the right distance away. It definitely hid people walking by as I sat there.

It would be kind of sad if one of the selling points of an expensive limited production trim was disc brakes that are standard on basically every consumer vehicle on the planet, but I digress.

    Too much.
    No shit LOL

    True.

I don't think I have seen one with a snorkel up here. I've seen other (jeep and I think one land cruiser) vehicles with them, but not Tacos.

Three Pros here in Myrtle Beach. That's a lot for 34,000 population One blue with Snorkle and two white. They are discounting them. But I decided to wait for a 2020 limited instead. Also want to see some F150 size incentives on the Ranger.

They should have put a Safari on it, not the abortion they call a snorkel.
