I think the materials in the first gen Tacomas were far superior to my 3rd gen. I think the seconds were probably better too. The "design" of the third gen layout is better, but the materials really suck. Every thing scratchs so easily. Its ridiculous.

I couldn't agree more. I am baffled how crappy the 3rd gen is. My 99 looks better than the 2021... Pisses me off!

Anybody figure out how to get the scratches out?

I'm expecting the interior to be floor to ceiling red leather camo, and the dash to have TOYOTA spelled out across the dash. Tons of ambient lighting, so much that you'll be distracted while driving. Gimmicks everywhere in the interior compasses and topo maps everywhere. Hooks to hold things you don't yet own, or will even need while driving in a Tacoma. Accompanied by rear roll down window so it can all get covered in dust.

I won't buy a TV larger than 32" and I buy the cheapest one they have at Walmart. They last 3 - 5 years, I don't care what's on the screen, I certainly don't care what kind of screen it is.

The Highlander really does have a lot of interior storage. It's a minivan that's pretending to not be a minivan.

I have no complaints about the cab storage in the Taco, though. Everything fits as it should.

Under and behind the rear seats for emergency/recovery gear. Center console for more everyday needs. IMO this trucks holds all my needs and wants. If it didnt, I would get a full size.

It sounds like you should have got a full size suv.

This thread has restored some of my faith in humanity. I bought a truck and use it like a truck. I get inside with muddy boots, dirt and grime on me sometime. The last damn thing I need is a 32 inch screen tv on top of the dash. If you want a nice SUV or sports car go get it. Don’t take away from what trucks are supposed to be..signed grumpy old man!

I like old things; one of my clients was in my office the other day and couldn’t resist my ‘80’s “Intermatic” space heater. After feeling and hearing the lovely click of the buttons, she grinned and remarked “so satisfying.”

No one says that about laggy touchscreen buttons.

Oh! Took a ride in a friend’s 300zx the other day too. That dash was righteous.
