Nice truck man! Hard to put a price on the satisfaction of having a damn nice truck that is no longer available. I doubt any manufacturer will go back from the "mid-size" available today. And the S-10's and Rangers are just not in the same league. You did fine. Enjoy it.

Did you trade in something that had negative equity? Why the gap insurance?

i was pressured into the gap insurance even though i said no they recommended it since i am making payments and my mother is a co-signer and her name is on it too. so i got the gap insurance just to make her her feel better. i was also told if i dont use the gap insurance i can get part of it back as a refund i said no but both my mom and the dealer were telling me id be missing out on being protected so i said screw it and got it. not even sure if i needed it.

    Second this.

I bought my truck (Xtra Cab, TRD Off-Road, 4x4) with 130K miles here in Houston, Texas (no frame rust issues at all) for 9K in $100 bills. That's what the guy wanted to make the deal, so that's what I did. I definitely would have preferred a Double Cab, but I couldn't find ANYTHING anywhere in the country with a Double Cab with the kind of miles I was looking for- so I bought the one I did.

I'd REALLY check the frame out and ask when timing belt/water pump were done as well. If it were me (which is what I actually did) I'd check as many of the fluid colors as I could to get an idea of what will need to be done when you get it. I'm crazy about maintenance though. Maybe you can negotiate some of those things with the dealer still- I think it would be worth the try.

If/When it passes your inspection, you can start coating/re-finishing everything like I'm doing here:

Nice truck. I say you got it for a fair price. If you wanted and/or needed this truck, you didn't go wrong.

Hahaha. The thing about LA that got me (I used to live there) is there is no middle ground. There are definitely some beautiful girls, but there is definitely ^^^^ this as well. There was no average.

what pissed me off the most today, is that i found out what GAP insurance actually is and what its used for. i got played into paying an extra 650$ for the gap insurance i absolutely DID NOT NEED it. the truck was $11,368.50 im paying $9,000 cash and financing the rest.
my mom was a cosigner because i had no credit history. both my mom and the Dealer would not let off when i said NO to the 650$ gap but my mom wouldn't sign untill i got it and they worked it into the truck amount so now my GRAND TOTAL is $12,018 plus interest!!:annoyed::argue:
