I just bought a 2016 toyota tacoma trd sport and I noticed that the floor board was wet on the side.

After I bought my tacoma I noticed that the floor was wet on the driver side and in the back so I pulled out the floor mats and left it to dry and it dried pretty quickly so I put them back in and then a while later I noticed that it was wet again not soaked just damp so I started looking for where it could be coming from and I noticed that the seal around the windshield had a crack in it so I'm thinking that maybe that could be the problem not sure.

Has the third brake light service campaign been performed?

Unusual to see wet on the driver's side.

It could be the windshield or it might be the 3rd brake. Given the age I'm leaning towards windshield, but someone needs to start pulling interior panels to chase it down and verify.

If you post a picture of your third brake light from the outside we can confirm if the change has been made.

I'm going to do the windshield water test to see if it's the seal around the windshield

Yes it would. I didn't realize that it is showing up on both sides of the truck. I take back what I said, that is pointing to the 3rd brake light to me. You need to have a look around the headliner and side pillars to verify.

I figured that it ran from the front driver's floor to the back on the same side

As what others said about windshield and third brake light.. If no leak coming from either of those.

Then I suggest that you should check the weatherstrips on the roof which the tape may be broken or remove due the aftermarket rack installation. After you take weatherstrips off, check any tape strips. If you see the holes on tape strips, then that means someone punched holes for installation and you know where the leak is coming from. Previous owner should place waterproof tape on the holes before placing weatherstrips back on there.

To prevent leak again, place new tape strips on each hole then place weatherstrips back on.

Or you can get the new rack on there so it won't happen again.

If you got it from a dealer, you may be able to get them to fix it for you for free, on my first gen, the dealer replaced all the light bulbs in the dashboard and did some other maintenance for me that didn’t show up during their inspection - it was not a Toyota certified vehicle, but they fixed it anyways and were really a Honda dealer selling some other trade-ins.

start here, look on Toyota's site or call dealer to see if cab mount/3rd brake light has been replaced. Also know that this was such a large problem, some trucks had to be torn apart and have a mold remediation team come clean down to sheet metal, before dealer could reinstall interior.
You could also have a windshield installer inspect seals.
Leaks are tough, we are just guessing and using past experience here.

Moon roof drains become clogged and will allow water to drain inside the cab.

Upon reading thread title, I immediately though third brake light leaking. Which is well known and documented problem. So much so that Toyota recalled and repaired faulty vehicles. I would call my local dealership to see if your truck is impacted by this issue and whether or not it has been corrected. Aside from that, Sun/Moon roofs and rear windows of these trucks will always be a weak point so long as rubber is the world's leading technology for weather seals and strips.

I see that my seal around my windshield is cracked in the corner on the drivers side I'm thinking that maybe this is the problem..
