That sucks but I know the feeling all to well. The very next day after picking up my brand new black F150 one of my employes grabbed a ladder off the ground and didn't look behind him as he lifted it. You guessed it, a nice white scratch down the side of the bed rail in less than 12 hours. Sucks but like you said you can't fix stupid!

I feel your pain. I was rear ended this morning and I broke 500 miles on my way to the dealer for an estimate. The bumper is now crooked, but the painted panels are fine and there's only a single light scratch on the center section.

Do you really think nobody has ever sprayed a pearl paint job except Toyota?

    It isn't unicorn paint.

How many custom paint jobs have you done of have had done to a vehicle?

It's a motocross/motorcycle thing. When you buy a new helmet the first thing you do is drop it on the ground to get that first crash/scratch out of it. You do it first instead of constantly worrying about that first scratch or crash because of some other dumb shit. It's superstition and that's exactly why he threw a rock (a very small one I presume). If you don't ride MX, you probably won't get it.

With all that said, there's no way in hell I'd throw a rock at my brand new Tacoma. :bikewhoops:

That sucks. My 2010 got it's bumper and left fender taken out with like 1,200 miles on it in a parking lot. At least the stranger came into my building asking who owns the black tacoma. He was a "stand-up" guy that had integrity. I got hit this weekend and waiting for the claims adjuster. It took out the 2 right fenders, both doors and the back right tire and rim. Over time you will get over it and enjoy your truck - until the next accident.

It's actually unicorn semen. Little known fact.

    This is just me, but...
Knowing that they will never match the paint exactly I might just get them to fix the area in question (is there a dent there?) then outline the taillight along the body line in flat black on both sides. It looks like if you follow the body line vertically that it would look like it was meant to be that way. Might even just get a good vinyl guy to cut some flat black vinyl.

Edit. I just photoshopped it and it actually looks pretty good like that. I just followed the angle and vertical of the body line and dropped it straight down the fender.

No. The Super White is unicorn semen. Well, actually it's a blend of unicorn semen and satyr semen. The ratio of the blend is seasonal so, obviously, it will depend on the truck's build date. That is why everybody knows it's SWFTMFW.

Sound like a good plan. Then when it's done, throw a rock at it.

Would you throw a rock at the exact same area that you just fixed? Because that's the way I like to do things; spend a bunch of time and money fixing something that I didn't mess up then mess it up again on purpose.
