Yup! I did that in the past. What you don't see in that pic is this:

The mistress lives under the stairs when I'm driving the Taco, but gets rolled behind when I'm riding. So, the Taco gets shoved under the stairs. That mark does double duty to help avoid rubbing the shelves on the right.

I also have a mark on the wall that aligns with the bottom of the front cam video feed when I am just right. :D

My dad has a long bed GMC Sierra HD. He has a thing mounted to the wall that shows a green light while he pulls in, it flips to red as soon as he hits his set stopping point. Really handy.

I use a piece of blue tape on the garage wall that will line up with the door lock button

I think it's pretty common knowledge that the first gen is a compact and the second/third gen are mid-size. Compare a mid-size to mid-size and they're very similar. A 2000 Tundra compared to a comparable 2010 Tacoma is within about an inch on every measurement except length due to the Tundra needing the room to accommodate the V8.

With my last 200, I cleared with about a quarter inch in front and a quarter inch behind with the garage door closed in a shared condo garage building. I'd call it a success:

My 2002 DC Pre Runner is 208" long or 17.4ft a 3rd gen in its longest configuration is 225.5" long or 18.9ft . That's only a 1.5ft difference , hardly noticable!!

lol this makes zero sense. Garages are built for cars not trucks. “2 door vehicles” is not the reason garages are sized that way

Yeah that's the point I'm trying to make, not that the Tacoma hasn't grown (obviously it has), but that if you compare compact, mid, and full-size trucks through the years, they're remarkably similar in size within their class. Soft and round looks smaller (lookin' at you, late 90's F150) and ever since they started going with the bulkier styling, they look freaking huge by comparison.

thought it does since isn't a 2 door truck shorter than a 4 door? Most common double size garages are 24' x 24'. Just my opinion also.. LOL

Bought my house because of 3 car garage and after reconfiguring all my stuff everything fits nicely even the atv trailer.

We had a house ith 3 car garage until 4 yrs ago, but we decided to downsize to a condo (I don't wanna have to mess with landscaping work anymore). At the time, both the Disco and a RR Classic would fit and truth b told, it wasn't even crossing my mind then that I will ever own any other truck but those two.

    Have a tennis ball:D

Thanks for posting these numbers. I hear people make this statement all the time "Tacoma midsize is as big as a 15 year old fullsize'", Which is simply not true. They are not as wide either. Fullsize could always fit a 4x8 sheet in the bed. The Ridgeline is the only midsize that can do that.

Last year when I built a detached garage next to our house, building department wouldn't let me go any larger than the house square footage... so 49x29 was my end result.

2 double car garage doors on front, 1 double car door on the back to allow drive-thru of the left hand bay on a corner lot. I cant say it's pretty, and the spouse will always be pissed it isnt a pool...20181110_071454.jpg

so you want to park your car in the garage? your truck fits in the garage, barely, and its stock? you want to modify your truck making it longer? the modification to the truck means the truck wont fit in the garage? why is this even a question in your mind?

sounds like an easy solution....dont add the brushguard.
