Sorry to hear about the truck. Keep in mind the safety tips you've read here, get it fixed and one day you'll have a story to tell...

I wonder why insurance rates are soo high for male teen drivers? That's right, drivers like Anthony999 screwing it up for the other teens out there.

I don't need to repeat what has already been said, and I was looking forward to hearing about some a$$ clown that hit you, only to find out you managed to hit a stationary tree.

Another reason teens should not drive brand new vehicles.

...................Is there a hidden telling point in that last sentence-(this is the worst thing I've ever done TO this truck) sounds like the truck was given to him and he thrashes it.

Ok since all you idiots dont believe me, its been raining in Phoenix, so TIRES CAN SLIP. It was only about 50 feet from the stop sign so I couldnt of been going that fast. And my other accident was a small fender bender to the back of my bed. And ya, it was more of a my dads gonna beat my ass cry.

Cool down son, I think all everyone is saying is that it's wise to drive sensible and according to the weather conditions...I think you've probably learned from this. Ya know, everyone here was 17 once and we all made our share of mistakes. Important thing is that you learn from them.

I know that I made a mistake, and I admit it, but its just frustrating not being able to drive my truck, and how everyone is telling me that I was going to fast when I really wasnt.

Anthony-didn'tmean to add to your misery by being negative on your thread-hope you accept my apology young Man. That being said, is there something you could have done in your driving demeanor at that time to not crash so violently? Sure there are variables-rain, the lightness of the truck in the back as opposed to the front (which gets even worse when you brake) the condition of the surface you're on...etc. all of which has to be considered and adjusted to accordingly. Your truck is thousands of pounds of projectile nicely numbed up with power steering and power brakes and a well-balanced sprung ride all working in harmony. You need to take driving seriously enough to become the ultimate piece to that harmony. Trust me when I say ALL-ALL of us have been where you are now-a few of the responses were a "tough-love" approach by people who want you to be safer, believe it or not. I personally hope you take it all well and gain from it and be carefull out there:)

Thank you. I couldve been more cautious going around the corner, and driving a stick in the rain sucks, because you get it up to 2 thousand RPM's and you can peel out. But there were some things I definitely couldve done better.

I think you would have found a much different response from most of us if you'd started off this way. Realizing that it was not the rain, the truck, etc that caused the wreck but the way the truck was driven is the first step. Now get the truck fixed and remember this feeling. That's the most important part.

    Good luck.

Wow see and you have a manual-add direct drive torque to the equation! What's the verdict on the truck? Are you going to fix it? If so' tell Pops to stay on them to check the FRAME for trueness too...usually they will put a nice dress on it but you're going down the road on a SLANT:eek:

slow but not slow enough, well now u know not to drive even that fast in rain. vehicles are not light weight toys. they are big serious devices that weigh alot therefore should be respected with healthy fears.

After you get your truck fixed, the next time it rains, you need to take it to a big open EMPTY parking lot and start whipping it around. This will teach you a lot about your trucks capability. It will also teach you how to control and counter slides, how much or little force it takes to break your tires loose, etc.

It's partially how I learned to drive in the snow many years ago. I have also used this technique to teach other people how to drive in slick conditions. It works.
