I wanna say I was around 2k rpm at 65 IIRC.
We mainly gear our trucks cause of the payload for fishing/camping. My truck was a fckn pig stock gears and 33s

Here's a great video. This guy originally had 4.88's but moved to 5.29's

Definitely a beautiful rig bro! And yup! Once you get started with Tacoma's you easily go down the rabbit hole :) It is addictive. BTW how much lift do you have, looks like you have a DB. The guy in the video said he was running 35's with a 3" lift?

Ahh just wait. The 3rd gen trans doesn’t like stock tires doing highway speeds. The converter will lock and unlock with the slightest touch of the pedal.

I do have a DB lift.
    I think it’s 7 front, and 9 rear. There’s about a 2” rake empty bed/no tire carrier

How has the DB been so far? On the 2nd gens everyone always had a bunch of issues. Did you have to do some cutting?

It’s my first DB lift, but had no issues cause I literally replaced everything minus the brackets/spindles itself. Full length shocks, custom Alcan leaf pack, timbren bumpstopped and rear shocks appropriately and what not.
I had zero issues since 2017.
I started with a 3” and snapped the Bilstein shock within 500 miles..go figure lol prolly a defect tho

I've had Alcan make leaf packs for me in the past. They are awesome! They literally take everything into consideration when designing your leaf packs, I mean everything not just your bumpers and winch etc. They even calculated in the weight of tools I carry and the weight of my subs and speaker box, lol!

I answered that question above. 35’s on an auto with 4.3 gears is about 3% higher geared than stock.

Keep in mind that your new tires might have a greater amount of rolling resistance, thus you might want to shoot for lower gearing rather than higher, ie go to 4.56, 4.88, or 5.29.

There is lots of into about 5.29’s in the thread I linked.

Here is a quote from that thread, “Crunched the ratio numbers and as you can see the final drive ratios for an AT on 5.29s is almost the same final drive ratio as the MT with stock 4.30s”

I’m unclear why you are talking about 2nd gens as you are posting in the 3rd gen forum. That or I’ve drank too much scotch tonight.

I'm just using the 2nd gen gearing as a comparison.
