I had both the Metra and the Scosche.... Spelling? anyways, the Scosche fit much better and matched the interior almost spot on, no paint needed. Plus it has the notches on the top, like the factory piece.

I take back my compliments to Metra's customer service.

This is retarded. I've been waiting for about 2 weeks for my "replacement shippent" to arrive. So, I called Metra over a week ago to try to get a tracking number of something and left a voice mail with someone who might have been the lady that helped me before. No call back. Yesterday I called again and got put on hold until I hung up. I tried again today and got hung up on. I called right back and finally talked to somebody who wasn't trying to give me the run around. He told me that they aren't able to actually send me the package or something and that I had to go through whatever "middle-man" company does their Amazon stuff. I was TOLD that my replacement package was on the way. I guess they lied to me...

So I called this middle man and there weren't too many problems there. They're (supposedly) sending me a new package with a shipping label for the wrong part because I have to send that back to them for some reason. They can't get the shipment out today so I have to wait 'til Monday for a tracking order and it probably won't be here until next Monday.

    Thanks Metra
    :brianr: Fuck you too!
I'm gunna see if I can work the system and get 2 dash kits out of this.

It finally came! Plus a nice little scratch in the face of it. Whatever, I'm excited to get it put in.

Derek, can you still help me install it? Maybe this weekend or at So Cal Lake Meet II? Are you going?

Yeah I can help dude, I don't know if I can go though to the meet.

You should take it to the meet though, and have Matt (the one with the red double cab and black wheels, SoCalTacomas sticker on the tailgate) help you. He does car audio install. :D

I'll be sure to take some pics. The HU is a Kenwood CD/MP3 blah blah blah. I don't know what model number it is. It was on the truck when I got it.

I didn't even realize that was this weekend then. If I end up going I'll definitely talk to Matt. Thanks.

We'll see. I've never been back there before so I don't know the condition of anything. I'm having a problem with my ipod freezing up when I turn on my headlights so something could be messed up.

So I finally got it installed, without using any of the supplied hardware (either they sent me the wrong screws or they didnt send any at all and I was using a random bag), I broke one of the plastic tabs on the A/C controls. And the kit didnt have any way of attaching the upper screw hole (was a pop-in tab with my old kit). I'm somewhat pleased with it, but it's a much different silver than the surrounding silver. So that was a huge pain in the ass for pretty much nothing. Again, fml...

How did you attach the upper bolt hole on the HU/pocket? My old kit had a pop-in tab in the center like on the corners.

i am a little confused by the bolt you are talkin about. my metra had a face place, then the single din picket that holds the head unit. four bolts on the stock bolt hold location and the face snaps into place via plastic fasteners. maybe you can shoot me a pic of the bolt you are talking about? i will shoot you my cell #

    not the best pic...
but that whole center part (cubby slot and slot for the radio are one piece.)

I know what you are talking about. I had to use CA (super glue) to glue the black trim piece to the back of the faceplate.
