First half in Kauai, second in Maui. LOVED seeing all the Tacos, made me miss mine back home. But I gotta ask, what the hell is up with the 6-9" lifts and stock tires!?!?

After seeing six to nine inches, you don't expect to see small shoes.

Not cheap at all but I don't think that's whats going on here. It def seemed like a "style" thing.

Could be a geographical style thing. They seem to like really wide tires too.

We have something called "safety checks" yearly here in Hawaii. Whenever you see 6+ inch lifts on stock, or sometimes even smaller tires, its because they are trying to pass this yearly check. We can't have the tires sticking out past the fender and our headlights can't be above a certain height (don't know what the height is, just know that they can't be to high).

trust me, even locals LOLOLOLOLOLOL everytime we see that. Also, the safety check stations know that once they pass the check, they will go home and throw their 20 inch rims with 35+ inch tires back on.

This was the answer I was looking for, I knew there had to be a reason. I still chuckle at anything over a 3" lift but at least put the right size tires on it.

I also saw a truck with Icon remote res front shocks, stock rear shocks and a 2" body lift. Any explanation for that one? :)

That's probably someone with no money, found a deal on a "leveling kit" on craigslist that was those icons, and blocks are cheap, haha.

Makes sense. It wasn’t cheap shipping myself over there!
