My buddy said the dealership has called and offered to buy it back several times for MSRP (he’s got Maybe 8,000 miles on it now) because people are asking and willing to pay more than MSRP. Not sure if they will ramp up production or if numbers for the year are pre determined.

My experience is none of the above. If was very quiet. Pretty understated sound given 300hp. If you remember the SI with VTec they at least sounded pretty sweet at high RPM. The R sounded like a regular Civic.

Used to have an 06 goat as well. Had to sell it as I was moving to Europe. I miss it greatly.

    I thought we had V10’s?

Seriously though, I watch them commercials and they have these cars pegged out at high rpm’s and to me, they sound like a weed whacker. I prefer the rumble of a muscle car but that’s just me.

Good luck with type r! I was working at Honda at the time our dealership got a few in, wasn’t much of a fan at first but they have grown on me a lot.

Enjoy your Type R! I was the exact opposite both times I traded my Civics for Tacomas. I enjoyed the sporty ride, manual transmission, and fuel economy but missed the utility of a truck. If I could have it my way, I’d have both in my driveway at once.

I don't like how it drops from 6 cylinders to 3 once you get up to highway speed. That made me pull my jets back and wait a couple more months to see how the Ranger drives. My '18 CR-V has a little turbo lag but it is fun driving.

I tend to agree. I don’t mind safety features that warn me of danger (on cars, trucks, lawn mowers or airplanes) but I don’t want the computer taking control from me.

I suspect someday the computers will do everything but I hope to be retired by then.

Does the rear fin do anything or is it like a taco snorkel or scoop ?

Did you know Honda forgot to put in the piston pin snap ring in some engines in 2016. That holds the piston in ! Just sayin. How screwed up was that.

And we get bashed for quality issues because of a bad cps lol.

Haha. They have mechanical problems at 50,000.

But you are correct the 250k days have been ‘value engineered’ out of existence. 150k was pretty good.

Dang, you guys love your trucks.. have me second guessing this trade.

Thinking about going Civic SI, Miata or MR2 to compliment the Tacoma now.

Was adiment about the trade since the dealer wanted below MSRP which seemed crazy.

Maybe my 23 year old mind needs to start thinking more 33 year old...

Well said, I wanted a Tacoma since I started college, bought one, and realized I’m not as truck oriented as I thought. I love cars, nail me to the cross if you must

Had a 2000 year Honda Civic for 13 years. Great little car with no issues whatsoever! Like my Tacoma better though...
