Should never have opened the hood...

Today I installed a new block heater, new UCAs, new spark plugs, new coolant and new coolant. Dammit.

Alignment is much better with new UCAs. Went with Light Racing - very impressed. Was able to get the numbers within spec. with no issues. Highly recommended for a truly, "done right" job.

The tech at Les Schwabb informed me that I will eat through "rack and pinions" after lifting the truck. Any truth to that statement?

Feels good to start getting my hands dirty with this truck. I was somewhat hesitant after my last vehicle experience. 1986 FJ60 - started stock - by the time I sold it I had a Full OME SOA, Weber Carb Conv., ARB bumper, 35s, lockers....and sold it for 2k.

Tell that tech to go back to TECHschool and learn about the Rack and Pinion. Better yet he should just take Drivetrain 101 over all together.

Managed to get my camber spot on @ .3, left and right...

Caster, "was" +2.1, then he said he dropped the truck off the lift and it changed...so...

    Left Caster - 1.5
    Right Caster - 1.9

I wanted 2.1 on both sides. At that point I was ready to leave. Will head back next week.

Yes. I am OCD about things like this...certain things. Having my alignment the way I want it is one of them.

Had tons on the old Taco's.... new Tundra is pretty stock
It'll wear them faster with the harsher tie rod angles, but still going to last plenty long as long as you dont have ridiculously wide tire/wheel combo and thrash it

"I just want you to know that you are going to have major problems with this, and that you're going to EAT through rack and pinions. See, look at this horrible angle on this end. It's a big problem with lifting Toyota trucks - they are all like this."
