I know it is cold but there is no way this normal for a clutch right?

COLD GEAR OIL HAS NO BEARING ON CLUTCH FUNCTION.

A clutch is like a spring loaded brake pad working in reverse against a flywheel... Even if your transmission is completely locked up and worthless, your clutch will still move through its travel completely normally. Thick, cold gear oil does not make a clutch sticky. It makes a truck hard to shift, because the gears are trying to mesh inside of thick, cold, viscous fluid, but that is NOT the problem being discussed here.

As a 3 year old truck, it probably has significant moisture in the brake fluid. This water will freeze when cold enough, causing sluggish clutch function, and under braking pressure the water will vaporize. That vapor is compressable and will cause reduced braking performance. He also has the hot weather clutch squeak. OP needs to properly maintain his vehicle before going the warranty route, in my opinion.

Sounds simply like moisture in the brake fluid, of the clutch system. Combined with a cold climate. Considering that brake fluid is hydroscopic, it only makes sense.

Try flushing with a good fluid, taking note of its tempurature ranges.

The clutch on my 07 works just as smooth during the winter time as it does during the summer months, same as my first gen did as well.

I just had this same issue on my 2017, the dealership has now had the truck over a week and has filed a claim with the manufacturer. I had to physically pull the clutch off the floor at one start up, given it was 10°...there is still no excuse for that. The technician said the sticky clutch seems normal for cold temps, but when he drove it he said the transmission was kicking back on him (I still don't really know what he was referring to by that). But I've had the truck for 7 months now and to this day there is always a jerk going from 4th to 5th no matter what the scenaro is...trust me I've tried everything and I even brought this up to them before, their response was "it's new, the clutch just needs to be broke in". Im already looking into trade options for when I get it back, just seems like this is a sign for the shit storm down the road.
