    Stock for now

As a small apartment dweller, no garage, and a storage unit, this is exactly what I've been looking for. How much lighter is the bamboo version compared to the birch?

You are in the same situation I was in when I made this for my own truck some time ago...

Both Birch and Bamboo are 22lbs per board (66lbs for a 3 piece long bed set)
Both are effectively equal in strength and stiffness.
If you go for bamboo you should do it for the aesthetics and eco-friendliness. Looks super-premium with the mineral oil coating which brings out the color. The birch is great if you want to DIY your own staining, painting or artwork. Or if you want to leave it bare that's fine too! I've had my birch for years and it's held up well with no coating.

I'm currently offering $100 off Bamboo orders with the discount code TACOBAM
$50 off all Birch orders with discount code TACOWORLD
All Birch ships next day, Bamboo ships in 7 days.
Shipping transit times are typically 4-5 days.

I figure with my Decked and Alu-Cab canopy I've got a bit more covered storage above the Decked than you get in the empty bed under a tonneau cover. Works great for me.

    Ya it's about 82in.
But keep in mind that that's corner to corner which isn't really how a person fits in the bed.
6' tall or shorter is a good rule of thumb for sleeping alone in the back of a short bed with the tailgate up.

I have a decked system and love it! I had a topper on but as others said it limited what I could haul.

What mount is that for the fire extinguisher? I've been looking for something that can handle something larger and doesn't suck.

For some reason I'm not allowed to post this on your most recent product update about the bed stiffeners, however, I did want to run something by you if you're looking for suggestions for possible future product ideas or builds:

Out of curiosity have you ever considered making something similar for the interior of the cab? Something like the notel sleep system?

i know a lot of people that would buy this (myself inculded) but it seems no where to be found online.
could be useful for people that have shortbeds or simply need to use their truck bed as a truck bed w/out camper shell setup and just need to crash inside their cab.
No worries if not, just thought it might be a fun future project idea for you guys to play with.

Someone was looking to pull the passenger seat in an attempt to make something like this happen. They were asking about the airbag codes and what not.

I doubt any of those mounting points are designed to carry that much weight and the Tacoma front seats wont fold down like that. There are so many other alternatives that are just..... better..... When you buy a truck you're trading off things like sleeping inside the car for a truck bed

Oh, I have no idea how this affects airbags (if at all since it would be for sleeping at night and not a permanent install). I'm solo so I've had my front passenger seat and back seats pulled out for over 5 years now - so didn't even think how this would affect airbags for passengers since I never have any. Just would be a nice thing to put up when you want to sleep and have a full bed or shortbed I'd imagine - perfect for a tall solo person like me.

I've had my tacoma for a long time and don't think I'll ever reinstall my passenger seat again. I like effectively having a "one-seater" tacoma xD
anyway, this is great solution for me and others like me. Obviously not for everyone - but when I did have my passenger seats installed in the beginning, I remember it folding down quite a bit, and being flat enough for use as a flat surface table so I imagine it would work for people that don't want to remove their passenger seat too!
