..it still turns heads after 8 yrs, it's badass in its own manner, it's reliable, it's tough, the design is timeless. At 6'1" and 240lbs I fit fine in it even with that radio installed under the column. In its whole life any money I spent on it was only maintainance and a couple mods. One minor recall for fuel shield. It starts and runs EXACTLY as it did new-I know,I was there. This is the best truck ever made to the point that I will probably never part with it.

I love just about everything on my taco, except for the ubnsightly body damage and some mysterious noise that happens. but it looks great, performs great, and can haul quite a bit. I love mine to death, mine sounds like that red one on the 1st page

I love how the fuel gauge stays in place even when the truck is off. Its just a little thing but I really like it.

my 02 DC limited has a J shifter, but no keyless entry :-( and i cannot open my door from the driver side, i think it has to do with the lock itself. anybody else having this problem.

I had originally wanted an 04 A/C TRD OR but the bank would only give me a loan on a newer model. (Interest rate is lower even though the truck is 4 times as expensive)

Still love the look of the 01-04's. Really sharp.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I still have mine and still like it for a number of reasons.

A: It was a HUGE improvement from the previous generation.
B: Has lots of power for its size. The Ranger- even now- is puny in comparison
C: The whole truck is very easy to work on. No stupid plastic engine shrouds and knick-knacks to get in the way.

D: The overall quality is superb, and at risk of pissing people off, I think better built than the latest generation. I've looked at the new Tacos and can't help but feel that Toyota cut some corners here and there- like the cheap plastic fuel door clasp, the added plastic on the body, and so on.

E: It runs and runs and runs and runs. Mine has 217,000 and acts like it could go another 217,000.

In summary, I think this might have been one of the last truly classic Toyota trucks before they started turning into larger and more fluffy trucks.

i love the reliability and versatility..the other day i did a bunch of hauling with it pulling a 16 ft. trailer and then turned around did some trail riding after that. ive got a 2wd but it did perfectly in the mud and trails
