1/2" of ice last night about 8 pm...6 inches of snow over night...State road never touched the roads...Going to work this morning...Never slipped once...

I even tried to break her loose a few times and the LSD never let me.

Its great for when you need to get somewhere but not so great when you want to play...Wide open parking lot this morning when i got to work...couldn't even get some good doughnuts going...Still had a blast playin on the ice though...Take it out of 4WD and i could slide at will...but with it locked in, she was steady as could be....

    I love this truck...

Is the diff an aftermarket unit? I have a Pre Runner and occasionally go up to New Mexico. Run into ice a few times and was wondering if an LSD would help.

I really have never had an LSD that was this tight before. the other trucks I have had were like they didn't have it at all. I always get 2 perfect black lines behind me :D

I love my LSD - and why I got it. I wanted traction assistance for daily driving in snow.

Ain't nothing wrong with the LSD even for occassional & lighter offroading. It's much better than an OPEN diff. It all depends on what you need and what type of offroading you do. Not everyone needs lockers for offroading.

Those poor 09 TRD Sport guys...havin to push buttons now.

05-08 LSD rocks in the snow, 'on' in 2wd and 4wd. Nice being able to get home and cruise right up my icy driveway everday w/o stoping to push buttons or put in 4wd.

Novice drivers and winter driving virgins should be aware it can act like a bit like a locker at times on slippery surfaces, the rear can slide out faster than an similar open diff'd truck, otherwise enjoy having two wheels ripping it up.

Any experience with aftermarket units? I've been looking at the Detroit TrueTrac. Any recommendations?
