So, even though I have only driven it 550 miles, I've determined I love my tacoma. My 2023 trd off road is a keeper, even though:
    1. it has basically no creature comforts accustomed to 2023
    2. It's red, was my least favorite color until I saw it.
    3. It came with scratches brand new
    4. It comes with payments.
    5. Gas mpg will be crap for the next 15 years of owning
    6. The clutch, but I'm getting used to it
    7. The useless cup holders.
    8. Smaller inside and bed size
    9. Brake dive

I came from driving a 2007 tundra for the last 16.5 years. I'm reluctant to put the for sale sign on it but I'm now confident it's time. I love shifting the gears even when in traffic. Plus, no one, meaning my wife, can drive it. That may be the best part.

    ?? Why did you buy a 2023 in a color you don't like? Why not buy a sub-100K 4.0L 2.5 gen (2012-2015) that is 1-owner and well-cared-for?

I will hopefully be getting the call that my 2023 Off Road 6mt has arrived any day now and will also hopefully share the same love for mine, although my wife is very capable of driving it so I would have to take that off the list!

    Well I’m confused

I’m glad you love your truck but numbers 1-9 make me feel like you should have purchased something different lol

If the OP wanted a manual, you almost gotta take what you can get!

I somehow lucked out when I found my MGM, a color I actually wanted in a Tacoma.

This. Manual tacomas are hard to come by. Then find one at msrp, or 1500 under like I did. So red it is. Oh, and time. Not much longer on the clock for 2023 trucks being built. That was a big consideration. I had a choice of 3 trucks within 500 miles, and I got it.
A silver, my color, just came up. But it's 2.5k more in msrp and has crap I don't want like predator steps. I'm happy.

Agreed, I didn’t have much of an issue with it besides the clutch engagement consistency. In my past MTs it was better, in some much better.. I suppose I was chasing that consistency. Bypassing the accumulator helped in my case. With most things, as you mentioned, YMMV.

Yep, in 2022 also. When my dealer called and said she snagged me an army green access cab Sport stripped of electronic nonsense with a manual I sent her flowers.

Jesus. If I had a problem with HALF of that stuff I would bought something else. But, glad you're making payments on something you can love (or tolerate).
