I hear you. I have always had a stick until my Tundra in 05. Got rid of it for a stick in 11 and had to get rid of it. Went back with a auto.

No issues with what I got. I always buy used so can't be as picky as getting a new. I can always mod or add anything I need to it. Now I just have to find a local mud hole.

Only regret is I had to buy an access cab. I wanted a regular cab but, Toyota won't make a V-6/6 speed/4x4 regular cab. So, I had to buy an access cab to get the drivetrain I wanted. Unfortunately, it's not a regret that I can fix, unless I decide to do a cab swap and frame chop on this truck, or swap its drivetrain into a regular cab. (either one would be prohibitively expensive and kill the resale value so, not gonna happen)

It's not new, it's not Mexico
My 1999 Extended Cab was totaled unexpectedly and my wife's car isn't paid for so I had to go by a monthly payment I could afford. That meant getting a Regular Cab. It's a good truck but I really want a Prerunner Access Cab, I might wait for the third generation Tacoma.

I like my Black Metallic '01 extended cab, 4X4, manual tranny 4 cylinder with a topper Tacoma.

Paid for, gets good gas mileage and the best part is I got a frame replacement a couple of years ago so it was almost like getting a new truck. Frame warranty goes to 2016.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Love mine, if I ever get another though, it will be a V6 access cab, never cared for 4 door trucks, they just look funny. No offense to any double cab owners, some of you guys got really great trucks, DCs just aren't for me. I do enjoy my 4 banger with the 5 speed a lot though, sure is a kick to drive!

Only second thought I had was if I should have bought Nautical Blue instead of MGM, but I love my truck. I wish I could get a long bed with the manual but you can't, so no point in worrying about that.

Not at all. Made sure when I bought this one that it was exactly what I wanted. NO regrets.

I've had my 2010 access cab V6 4x4 Sport since July. Bought it used with 40xxx miles. I love everything about it but there are days I wish I got the double cab. My truck was just too good a deal to pass up at the time and I saw so few used TRD sport or OR at a reasonable price I was tired of waiting. I also didn't want to put my 00 subaru with 143k through inspection in September.
