A longer shackle will add more lift. If an inch or so is desired, then go for it. But since those leaves look longer than OEM, you'll need to do the math as for shackle length vs. lift. Or you could get a set of those parts house kind with multiple holes.

Moving the hanger would be ideal if you want to go that route. Have you seen the banana shackles?

Yes it will. My shackles and leaves hit the frame every time I go over a speed bump or large pot hole. I got used to it.

Try a set of the boomerang/banana shackles. I can't see you needing more than an inch longer, either. Also, I was told that a general rule of thumb is, for every inch of shackle, you'll get a half inch of lift.

Yea moving the hanger is out of the question for now... From what I've researcher is that for every inch of shackle lift equates to only 1/2" of actual lift. So a 2" shackle drop would only net you 1" lift.

You have my attention with the banana shackles... Have you used them? Do they make them for my application?

If I have to, ill remove my hitch to make room for the longer shackle... Really wanted to avoid that but at this point the springs are on and there staying one.

Just ordered toytech adjustable shackles from wheelersoffroad... They cant come soon enough... Also ordered 3\4 inch bushings for my shocks as I had to drill them out because they were too small. I'm learning alot from this build. Didn't think there was that much involved.

Why did you have to drill out the shock bushings? Were they a one pice of two piece bushing?

    but '95.5 - '97 Tacoma's had shorter springs then the '98 - '04 models

Also i wanted to share this to get your opinion on this and to possibly open another option to extending the LPBV when lifting the rear of the Tacomas. This is how i fixed my Load Proportioning Valve on the rear axle... I already had a 5" extension installed from the fabtech lift kit so i utilized that in combination with my fabrication as seen below.

    WP_20150609_007_48ae178c761673a332d3b376ab111326c6c6a6f3.jpg

Before i began this project i took some baseline measurements on all item that my be affected by the added height of the new springs. My LPBV measured 13" from the bottom of the bed to the top of the LPV knuckle. After putting my springs on i was more then a few inches away from my baseline measurement. So i had two choices, make a longer bracket out of flat steel or be more creative lol. I went to Lowes and bought an eye bolt with close to the same dimensions as the eye bolt for the stock LPV and went from there and it works like a charm!!!! Im back to 13" from bed to knuckle and it flexes just like the old one did. To make this work i simply took the two rubber keepers/bushing and flipped the around to hold the new eye bolt (was just a tad bigger the the stock one). Then added 1 metal washer behind the first rubber bushing to help expand the rubber more when i tightened up the nut. Bingo, its nice and snug but still loose enough to move like the old one did.

Those would be T100 shocks. They're a little bit longer and have more stroke than the Taco ones. I've been running those for years now. If you'll lube up the bushing with some grease it'll slip on with a little effort...or use a bolt and washer to pull it on.

its always best to keep the bracket stock and just use a flat bar of steel to lift the mounting point straight up in the same position as oem just drill new holes the same height as the lift, for a lift like yours a 1 1/2" angle iron would be best to retain strength at that much distance from the oem mounting point.

by doing it the way you did it "could" be free to articulate in ways not intended to move and therefore not change the way leverage is applied on the valve.

that said, you probably would never know the difference either way until you need to lock the brakes under load.

Yea I know, ill prolly keep this as a temporary thing for now until I make a custom bracket. The problem lied when I went to loosen the one adjusting nut on the stock eye bolt and it snapped off. Sooo kinda had to do something lol. Not sure what they cost from the dealer but I sure didn't feel that motivated to spend a mint on essentially a "toyota" brand eye bolt. But I do agree keep it as stock as possible.

I lubed the hell out of em and they would only go about a 1/4" before stopping. Fought with one side for an hour before getting on my phone and getting a set from aftermarketsuspensionparts.com. I found what I needed, ordered them and said F it, grabbed a drill and dremal tool and went to town. 15 min on each shock, more lube and they slid right on. Yea I thought about forcing them on but if for some reason I need to pull them off in the future I didnt want to possibly damage them trying to pry them off.

doh... I see that now under your user name.

regardless... your springs are too long.
The angle of the rear hangers should be more vertical (not 90* tho')
and when the leaf pak is compressed... the rear hangers should swing up/rearward
Yours currently looks like they will hit the frame when the springs are compressed to flat.

O yea, already planned that these springs were going to be longer (more travle) then the stock ones due to the bigger arch that they produce. After i get everything tweeked and where i want it, my one friend is a welder and am going to have him fab me up some extended bump stops. I dont want to use the entire travel of the rear as more modifications will be needed.

Update..... Installed the toytech shackles today. No more issues with clearance problems and am able to keep my hitch. I'm now up 2inches higher in the rear. No big
deal as of now. Just want to test drive it tomorrow. And possibly remove a leaf to bring it down out of the rafters
