Just ordered a set for my JBL unit. Thanks. I did read earlier that the JBL knobs would not have words. Is that correct?

 

That's correct. In fact, none of the knobs will have words from here on out (the people have spoken). So aside from a handful of folks who bought the non-premium Entune knobs and asked for words, all the Hondo Garage knobs are now wordless.

@wileydavis when will the first shipment if the new Nav knobs be shipped out?

 

The first of the Entune Audio / Audio Plus (non-nav) knobs will start shipping tomorrow in the order they came in. We're machining the Entune Premium (nav) knobs and more Audio/Audio Plus knobs tomorrow, so they should start shipping Friday (takes about two days for them to go from machining, to finishing, to anodizing, to assembly and packaging.)

I never use the knobs (steering wheel controls) but I'll def order these.

 

@wileydavis, please don't be mad. But could you design the face of the knob to match the A/C controls?

I am not sure what you mean about the 4 little dimples. I was talking about the face of the knob on the a/c controls. The gray bezel is more rounded and have 6 distinct tabs. Plus the center black face is more protruded.

I know you did a ton of research on knob design, I am just looking at it from an aesthetics point of view. Wanted it to look more OEM looking.

 

Ah, I see. Probably not then. A few issues there. One, making the face domed would require some 3d machining, which would add a good bit to the cycle time, making them knobs more expensive. The radiused edge is what I was trying to get rid of on the stock non-nav knobs. Having such a big radius makes the knobs hard to grab unless you make them stick out a lot farther. Sticking out a lot farther makes the potentiometers behind them more prone to damage. As for the tabs, those are close to the design the knobs have, but I put in 8 of them instead of 6 (6 looked weird). The OEM HVAC knob look is hard to emulate because the radio knobs are a smaller diameter.

These will go nicely. I am tired of the stock knobs and sometimes being difficult to turn and then accidentally calling someone on my quick call list.
