I traded my 19 sr5 for an t4r 21 OR 6 months ago, absolutely love the trade in. Ive looked into 4runners.com, similar setup to this forum. But oh man its terrible, people are pretty rude, argumentative, uneducated and minimal overall content. I really miss talking to people on here and all the info that is available.

Try www.T4r.org I was on there for years when I had my 3rd gen 4Runner and always thought the people were very down to earth and knowledgeable. Obviously, my vehicle was older so it seems to me that the newer the vehicle... umh.... well I just stop there....

Agreed, and I think most of us over there are on both sites (I had a Taco previously as well).

In addition to this being an older site, I think a lot of it has to do with the variety in Tacomas, and the wide range of directions people take them in. A lot of Taco builds turn out very different, and it seems like there are fewer avenues for customization in the 4R. (At least in stuff you see).

As a long time 3rd gen T4R owner, T4R.org is the superior forum for that platform. I can’t vouch for the 4th & 5th gen crowd since I never spent any time in those subforums, but the 3rd gen community there is as good as it gets with info, helpfulness, how-to write ups, forum etiquette, etc. I would bet the 5th gen section is busier than the 3rd gen section too because that platform has been around so long, most questions people could just search and find the info they’re looking for without starting new threads. 3rd gen subforum rarely had need for moderation because forum members seemed to behave like adults. Again, I can’t vouch for the 5th gen subforum but I’d bet it’s among the better options in the 5th gen community.

I own a 4Runner and am on 4Runners.com and I agree with op honestly that site sucks it’s extremely small compared to tacomaworld only the same people who post regularly and there’s almost zero knowledge on there. T4r was a billion times better but their interface and layout fucking sucks so I don’t even try to go on there anymore
