Paying a machine shop will only be slightly more expensive than buying all the required gear to do it yourself. I'd go that route because nothing is worse than spending a bunch of money on tools you may not use regularly and still have the chance of forking it up because you've never done it before

Ask me how I know :anonymous:

Hell Yeah we do! Here's two videos that will help with the job. You could use our Upper Balljoint Replacement video to know how to remove and reinstall the steering knuckle. Then you can use our Manual Hub Swap Part 2 video to know how to handle the press work.

@Timmah! how’s it going hope all is well so purchase a 1st GEN 4 x 4 front bearing part # 90369-54002 from Toyotaparkdeals online curious If one side of the inside of the bearing should be able to have a lot of play itS almost like it rotates I don’t know how to really explain how it rotates but it has major play in it is that normal

These front bearings are unique design. There is a ton of play in them when you hold them in your hand. Once it's installed properly and the CV axle nut is torqued to spec, there shouldn't be any detectable play when you grab the wheel at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions pushing and pulling in opposing directions.

Are you talking about when the bearing is in your hand or after it's installed in the steering knuckle?

Like I said, the bearings are unique. Don't let that throw you. The one thing you have to be careful with when installing this bearing is make sure you support the inner race of the bearing with a press sleeve or piece of pipe when you're pressing the hub in. This is a mistake a lot of shops and people make.

I just got this off ebay.

They have a poopload of tacoma parts. How I missed them before???? Anyway 73.00/45,000 mi;es. 6 mos warranty. If you check 'em out by going to the store front, I had to put 2001 tacoma in the search bar, as "Toyota" is not on the list.... I know.... Not sure what they're thinking....

Here, (light bulb) I'll just post storefront link - http://www.ebaystores.com/lkqonline

Seems I wasn't clear enough.... Go figure....
My post regarding Ebay was referring to one particular seller. Not Ebay in general.... Just narrows it down. This seller only deals with used parts. I imagine one could even message them to see if they had something that hadn't been posted yet or maybe they break down the hub assemblies & could be asked for one left as is.... I dunno....
